this was shown the day slim was announced.. lol
all i can say is wooppyed Do... How about fixing my problem with the new FW 2.80 when For some Odd reason the game pad will be placed on 6 or 7 and i have to Go into the controller settings every time to switch it to 1 to play my games. (and yes it's the ONLY pad/controller plugged in)

This video is fake. if you notice the top right corner the time and date is not in that rectangle box that Eric Lempell Showed us.
that is cause that firmware is 2.76.. the firmware installed on the slim (might be 2.8).. the box does not come until 3.0 is released some time in sept

Eric Lempel said firmware 3.0 would load onto the "What's New" feature, and that didn't exist, nor did the new design for the clock and ticker, with the message icon and friends icon, with your own personal Avatar. It could be real in terms of the PS3 slim boot screen, dependent on what firmware the PS3 slim comes packages with, but it's definatly not firmware 3.0, them saying it was in the firstplace makes me think its fake.

the slim ships with 2.80. Firmware 3.0 is released on September 1st. This kinda gives the user an option as to whether or not they want to update.
Only peripheral that has ever done that for me is my cheap $10 guitar I bought for Guitar Hero lol.
As long as they keep the Orchestra "warming up" sound...I don't care how they say Playstation 3....
@jbwzrd213 we still dont know if it is exclusive to slim yet. and they told everybody at gamecon that it would be in the update. @nektor as sirgrinalot posted ( a couple of comments down) "the slim ships with [2.76]. Firmware 3.0 is released on September 1st". the current ps3 slims (you can buy one right now @ your local gamestop) have the new PS3 logo at startup.. thus i concluded that 2.76 for the slim has the new logo :)
no one confirmed that coldboot would be in the new fw
happens to me too. i never could figure out why. i only have 2 controllers: the original that came with the ps3 and an official dualshock 3. no 3rd party controllers. it doesn't happen every time, but maybe 40% of each time i turn on my ps3.
since when do people come to qj for new news? i come here just because the site isn't as slow as dog ***** like the other sites that get news out faster. (ie ign) plus, qj seems to have good article writers and they usually don't post useless news unless it's funny.

We dont know if this is the PS3 boot up screen ; but its definately the PS3 Logo . i know this because its right in Sony's Website .
This just makes me want a CFW more so I can replace that hideous logo when it makes it's way to my PS3. I'm satisfied with the Spiderman font on my console. And I don't need a reminder for what PS3 stands for right under it.

This is NOT the 3.00 fw. What you're seeing is the ps3 slim's start up, hence the PS3 instead of Playstation 3 when it boots up. If you read the description from the original youtube video, he thinks that the ps3 slim comes with the 3.00, but it does not.
they better give us an option to change i t to the old classic style...and I do not mean the XMB just for a heads up

Looks very off and odd. Its probably cause ive seen the Sony Computer Entertainment thing over a million times on my PS3.
funny i got sad faces for just stating a Fact hahahah.. But anyways I have only the PS3 controller and the Rockband set that came with Rockband "No 3rd party" It does not do it for the PS3 game Pad BUT does with the RockBand set (every time)
