Video of new PS3 games running without firmware updates |
Ó
Yup, Team PS3-Hacks has apparently achieved a breakthrough in the PS3 exploit scene as it showed us that the team can make new titles run on the high-end console even if you haven't updated to the latest firmware. Confirmations on the validity of this accomplishment haven't gotten around just yet but we'll tell you more as soon as we dig up more facts.
If this proves to be real, one has to wonder where it all leads. Do we see an emergence of other hacks in the pipeline? Could this be a prelude to PS3 homebrew? We don't know but it's definitely a trail worth following.
Thanks to Ben02 for this sweet tip!

anyway, until recordable bluray drives and media becomes alot cheaper, dont think its worth bothering with!!

Note: If you do this, your save files won't work anymore when you update your firmware and try to play the game disc directly. Reason to be stated later.

Either way, the video later tells us that he still has v1.80.

The files might be old but the news they are giving people about how you can use them is new, ffs read and watch.
As for people saying its fake just because the frame skipped, that was purley why he took the tape off his TV screen, he coulda just ripped it off but a concious person wouldnt wanna ***** up they're 37" HD LCD flat screen TV. So they might take a little more time.
As to weather it is fake or not that remains to be seen when more people try it out. should it be fake, I doubt people using it would be able to play online since you usually have to already be signed into PSN to do so, if your not the game would attempt to do so when you start it before it loads up fully, in which case you would just get the firmware message again anyway.

Again, that was already known.
