IW can most likely use the same one and modify it further, or this game might be using a new engine altogether.

If they actually think that releasing a call of duty game every year with the same engine is a good idea I think people will eventually get bored of it. I see it as really little dev skill if they choose to do it this way imo.

Yeah, it's on the same engine right now, I can tell from the animations and effects. They might modify a few things, but as soon as we see the same ol' HUD and controls, you'll obviously know it's the same crap.
Will be another expansion pack.

So basically if a game has the same hud as it's past game it means that it is running on the same engine?
Also, even if it is running on an upgraded engine, i dare say that this game will be more fun to play than whatever FPSs there are out there as of right now.

What we really need is a Call of Duty Fantasy Warfare. Fight with a sword and shield or bows and stuff. 5 kill streak "UNLEASH THE WARLOCKS" and warlocks fly around dropping spells. 7 kill streak "SUMMON THE DRAGON" and a dragon flies in and starts rapin folk. Then you could have people dual wielding bows with four arms and stuff. Now THAT would a whole new Call of Duty.

If you can say MW2 will be better than any other FPS, you haven't played real FPS. Halo and Call of Duty don't count as real FPS.

I loved the gameplay and graphics in cod4, and am just happy there is a sequel being made for mf at all.
Besides, an engine doesn't say too much about a game, Unreal 3 engine was used as far back as 2005, and still being used for unreleased games still in development, I think it's logical for a few game sequels on the same console to use the same engine.

Also, if you wanna talk about Real FPSs why not exclude Console FPSs altogether?

Console FPS is true FPS, as most early FPS wasn't even played with mouse/keyboard, because those games didn't have mouselook or freelook. Don't even attempt to tell me what a real FPS is, commoner. The whole mouse vs. gamepad argument was killed off long ago.
I don't care what engine the game is on. I'm only buying it for the co-op, which I know will be in it, to play with a friend.
