A very short teaser trailer for Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare 2 was shown earlier during the NBA Eastern Conference game between the Magic and Celtics, and here it is for those who didn't tune in to the game and missed it. The vid looks like a montage of cutscenes, and it seems we'll be playing through another AC-130 gunship level in the sequel.

Modern Warfare 2 is currently slated for a November 10 release. There will also be a "World Premiere" (more footage, probably) of the game during the Eastern Conference finals on May 24.

amazing... They're going to use the same engine again.. I'll just wait until I see something new cause so far its all the same with a snowmobile.

I am not sure if they are going to use the same engine again. You can't tell either from any videos cause none of them are actual game-play footage.

IW can most likely use the same one and modify it further, or this game might be using a new engine altogether.

» Well

The trailer posted on GT says in-game footage. Even if its not actual FPS view gameplay its still showing how the game looks. Even if they're going to keep modifying the engine it'll usually look the same just with a few minor tweaks.

If they actually think that releasing a call of duty game every year with the same engine is a good idea I think people will eventually get bored of it. I see it as really little dev skill if they choose to do it this way imo.

Why thumb down Eclipze? Oh that's right, because he wasn't afraid to speak the truth.

Yeah, it's on the same engine right now, I can tell from the animations and effects. They might modify a few things, but as soon as we see the same ol' HUD and controls, you'll obviously know it's the same crap.

Will be another expansion pack.

Ya ya, w/e you say "Mr. Know it all"

So basically if a game has the same hud as it's past game it means that it is running on the same engine?

Also, even if it is running on an upgraded engine, i dare say that this game will be more fun to play than whatever FPSs there are out there as of right now.

» I doubt it

Infinity Ward seem like the type to push the envelope when it comes to making a CoD game. The other guys take the engine IW makes and then tweak it a little bit so they can't fail on a technical level. I'm thinking this game will have a different engine, they've had long enough to make it and the only reason that we seem to be getting a new game every year with the same engine is because of EA and their want to have a game out by either studio rather than stick with just one. But whatever

What we really need is a Call of Duty Fantasy Warfare. Fight with a sword and shield or bows and stuff. 5 kill streak "UNLEASH THE WARLOCKS" and warlocks fly around dropping spells. 7 kill streak "SUMMON THE DRAGON" and a dragon flies in and starts rapin folk. Then you could have people dual wielding bows with four arms and stuff. Now THAT would a whole new Call of Duty.

Where did you draw the statement that "Same HUD + same engine" from? I said I noticed the engine by the animations and effects, not by the HUD which wasn't even shown. I said as soon as you see the same things the series has been known for (same controls since CoD3, same HUD, etc.) you'll know the game itself hasn't been changed drastically.

If you can say MW2 will be better than any other FPS, you haven't played real FPS. Halo and Call of Duty don't count as real FPS.

If you really care so much about the engine a game is made with then you need to start thinking about what you're looking for in videogames.

I loved the gameplay and graphics in cod4, and am just happy there is a sequel being made for mf at all.

Besides, an engine doesn't say too much about a game, Unreal 3 engine was used as far back as 2005, and still being used for unreleased games still in development, I think it's logical for a few game sequels on the same console to use the same engine.

» Hmmm

So basically the millions of people who played CoD4 and loved it don't know what a "real" FPS is, right?

Also, if you wanna talk about Real FPSs why not exclude Console FPSs altogether?

» cod6

a few days ago i was at my friends house and we played cod4...i hadnt played it in months. and i asked him why the game looked so *****ty. then i realized nothing was wrong, and that he was running 1080p on a 52" tv. the thing was that after getting used to killzone 2 no other fps is as good. mw2 will indeed be fun just like cod4 but the grafix dont look like theyve improved much. i think that they just took cod4 put zombie mode changed some guns and are releasing it again. and if thats the case than too bad...i just hope its not because i love cod2, and 4, and i hope this one isnt just a 60 dollar expansion...so far the multiplayer for uncharted 2 looks like it can own this game

CoD4 took whatever skill was required for FPS and threw it out the window.

Console FPS is true FPS, as most early FPS wasn't even played with mouse/keyboard, because those games didn't have mouselook or freelook. Don't even attempt to tell me what a real FPS is, commoner. The whole mouse vs. gamepad argument was killed off long ago.

I don't care what engine the game is on. I'm only buying it for the co-op, which I know will be in it, to play with a friend.

» uhh

I think both games graphics are great! Oh yea there is no such thing as cod 6 nor 5. Its just world at war and modern warfare 2 P=
