Video: a vision of Blur, and all about the powerups

A Mario Kart in a simulator's skin? Maybe. On closer inspection, Bizarre Creations' upcoming Xbox 360 andPS3 blast-em-up racer, Blur, has a bit of a Twisted Metal feel to it, or have I just gone too long without a good TM? Anyway, the guys at Bizarre Creations each give their take on their big project, and they've got it all on video, with gameplay footages to sweeten the ride.

They all seem to be putting a lot of emphasis on those powerups. Definitely not the best avenue for driving skills, more like the outlet for all your dormant dirty driving with a flashy twist. Blur does seem very interesting, but it still doesn't quite make it to my personal watchlist just yet.

A racing game with power ups! Yeah, 'cause that's never been done before! I'll stick to Wipeout thankyou :)
