IGN reports that Epic plans to provide advanced online changes that will suit all three platforms (Xbox 360, PS3, PC). Team Deathmatch and CTF (capture the flag) will return and will be joined by the new "Warfare mode" among others. As for PC gamers, the game is reported to come with the Unreal Engine Toolset which should enable those with their fingers on WASD to build their own levels, game types, rules mods, and more.
As fun as it is to read about what's in the game, here's the latest preview trailer. It's got a few clips of the "goop gun" in action, the shock combo taking out 3 people, and what looks to be a boss fight with you using a trusty rocket launcher against a 30 foot tripod. Enjoy the video folks!
Published by Midway Games and developed by the gears at Epic Games, this much awaited FPS hits Europeans retail on June 30, 2007, and is set to be seen on US shelves by the second quarter of 2007.

Companies don't make games on one specific platform. Usually if they do, they have a key share holder who tells them what to do. This is not Epic in this case. They will not tolerate getting the emails they will be getting if it doesn't appear on the console that every multiplayer shooter does well on. Think about it for two seconds *****. and get a life.

The PC version is tailored to the Nvidia GPU thats far superior for the Unreal Engine them the ATi GPUs, Nvidia blows away ATi in opengl games no contest.
This is why they made a PS3 version because their initial dev stations used 7 series GPUs before they probably either got better 7 series or are using the new 8 series.
This is why it was easier to get the game working as well as it does with the PS3 since the PS3 is using a 7 series GPU as well.
Then lets look at GoW, it looks just as good but doesnt have nearly half the amount of things happening at the same time as UT2K7.
Just because GoW sold so well doesnt mean they will work on a Xbox360 version of Ut2K7. In order to make it work on the Xbox360, it would either use the same optimized engine as GoW with several sacrifices or they have to re-optimize the engine again to get the same effect for the Xbox360.
So dont expect a Xbox360 version of UT2K7 anytime soon, probably sometime in 2008 if it ever happens. Once they are done with Ut2K7, you know they are all gonna take a breather.

You need to check again because the last news of the game coming to the Xbox360 was that they have no plans as of now to get it on the Xbox360.
It wont be released for months after the PS3 and PC versions.

The game uses unreal engine 3, there is no "Development" to start. Textures, models and maps are easly transported between platforms.....tailoring the unreal 3 engine to each platform is all that needs to be done.....which gears of war has done most of the work for epic on 360.....so if anything the 360 version will most likely be more enhanced as epic has had plenty of experience on the system already...

The game uses the unreal 3 engine, same as GoW...so you are telling me GoW is not runable on a 360...duh...there is no huge difference between UT3 and GoW, they use the exact same engine....

GoW was highly optimized on the Xbox360. It uses a redesigned Unreal Engine. This is why it can run on the Xbox360.
You cant just take an engine designed for a PC and use it on a console. It has to be optimized for the processor and in the case of the Xbox360 and PS3, both use a PowerPC processor, then the RAM, the streaming of data from the DVD drive for the Xbox360.
GoW and Ut2K7 use highly different engines just the same as the games that use the Source Engine. For example, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, that uses a Source Engine, uses a modified version of it.
This is the same case as GoW. So in the end the engine running on the PS3, PC and Xbox360 will all be unique for their platforms.
If all platforms did use identical game engines for multi-platform games, then it would be easy to port games like Half-Life 2 over to the consoles, but the fact is that its not, the engine has to be customized to the specific platforms.

Nvidia GPU rapes ATi GPUs in OpenGL games, and thats a fact and the reason why Epic uses Nvidia Graphics cards and not ATi in their dev systems.
So expect the PS3 version to be better.

It was built for upcomming consoles and directx9+ PC's....sure there would be tweaks done for 360, but nothing too major...there is a reason they license the engine out, it's so dev's don't spend time writing custom engines...with this in mind they have made it compatible with practically all platforms.....
Take for example Fatal Inertia, that racing game that WAS PS3 exclusive, running on unreal 3 engine...now because it's so easy to port over they have decided to release it on 360 as well.....do some reading dude....

actually do some reading about the engine, it's been made with all consoles in mind and directx9+ PC's. Any optimising that needs to be done for the 360 needs to also be done for the PS3...it goes without saying that tweaks for unique hardware have to be done, what i'm saying is those tweaks have all been made developing gow.
What you don't seem to understand is that the fundamental engine for ANYTHING that uses unreal 3 engine is the same, same for the Source engine....now how many functions of the engine each game uses, and how they use those functions are up to the devs.
You write applications for both PS3 and 360 in c++, functions will stay generally the same. The only tweaks made for each system are in regards to memory management and unique system busses etc....you would know this if you had programmed at all.

Vietone, UT3 is not on the 360 for the SAME reason GOW is not on the PS3. EPIC made a choice, and they chose to produce one exclusive game for Sony and one exclusive for Microsoft. It's as simple as that!

Yes, I too will be waiting for the official press release, but if it is confirmed, then it makes nonsense of your all your comments about this game on the 360 (not just here, but in previous UT2K7 threads).

If UT3 for the 360 is true, then I really look forward to interviews with EPIC over this game in future, especially what they have to say about the PS3 and 360 versions after all the BS I've read from you about it for months.

It might come to 360 (personally I'm hoping it does because I have a 360) because its tempting for the developers to bring their games to a popular console then bringing it to a console that just came out and is under lots of fire lately.

ThankFully.....Tim Sweeny Lead Deisgner of UT2K7 is Very Happy With the Cell Processor,Which Will Be a Huge Advantage to the PS3....Physics in the PS3 Version Will Be as Good as the Highest Quality PC Version,The 360 Cant Handle Physics as Good as the PS3,Far From It Actually.
The Unreal Engine 3 Uses Streaming.....Should Epics Use the Standard PS3 "HDD",Then the PS3 will Have an Advantage in Streaming....Meaning Much-Detailed Textures,Events ,Character Models,Goemetry can Be Streamed Faster in the PS3 Version thanx to the HDD High Speed..[Cant Be done on the 360...No standard Hdd]

Do you have link to information about the Playstation3 allowing mods on their games?
The main reason this feature is turned off in the 360 is to remove cheating and make it fair for all users. That's on of the reasons Xbox Live is so successful. It's funny you say Halo is dead but millions of people are still playing Halo 2 on live each month. Not bad for a 2 year old game.
I want my online experience fair and balanced. I don't want the servers to die off a month after launch. That's why the 360 is the best choice for online gaming.

I would also add that anyone who think Epic after the seeing the amount of sales of that Gears of War had in its first Six weeks alone will release a 360 version inferior to any other console (especially a non proven one) is sadly mistaken.
And I agree the closed network is by far the best option as it stops the cheats and I dread to think what will happen to any console lets them in, look what has happened on the PC you cant win in a lot of the games unless you cheat to equal the playingfield yourself.
Oh and one more thing GEARS OF WAR is now in JAPANS TOP 10.

That was about why it would be relatively easy to bring it to the PS3, because the GPU technology is familiar to them, since it comes from the PC. It was NOT about NVidia vs ATI, so Vietone is wrong!

360 UT2k7 will perform 10 times better than the PS3 because of better development tools, unified RAM, a REAL gaming CPU and a more advanced GPU. Epic also confirmed that the 360 takes about half the time and 1/3 the cost to develop for than the PS3. This means they are going to add an extra 50 hours of game play to the 360 version. Also User-Created content will be able to be created via XNA and uploaded via the marketplace or USB device. Epic will be providing 360 specific tools for users to create their own content. Epic also said that the 360 pwns the PS3 and that BROKEN_HERO blows his dad regularly after a game of PS2 Bratz on his PS3. There was also a press release about Vietone mother getting gangbanged by sony execs after sony's weekly Gears of War tournament.

The ATi chip for the Xbox360 wasn't designed for the Xbox. It was the early stages of their design and Microsoft used it. If you look, its still a PC GPU nothing more. Only the memory interface is different. Look at the ATi Unified GPUs that they have now. They are far superior then the Xbox360 GPU because thats what it was meant to be. ATi gave Microsoft a lowered version of their GPU because they wanted to keep it cheap, just like Nvidia did for the PS3. But the fact remains
Unreal Engine will run in a DirectX environment but it runs idealy in a OpenGL environment. OpenGL has alot of distinct advantages for a game like Unreal because it offers features that a game like UT uses.
OpenGL has always been the superior rendering environment for UT since its beginnings. Play UT2K4 and run the game in DirectX vs OpenGL and you will see that OpenGL for UT far surpasses running it in DirectX.
You wonder why GoW looks as good as it does. Its because its not running in a DirectX environment. Look at the other Xbox360 games using DirectX9, they don't even come close to GoW, for example Lost Planet.
To say nothing has held anything against the Xbox360 is stupid. So far nothing on the Xbox360 can even hold a candle to GTHD. Not even the newest Forza Motorsport screen shots compare.

Saying the GPU is just a scaled down version of the current ATI GPU's and they just "gave" it to MS is total BS, and shows your lack of knowledge.....
Did you know that the GPU in the 360 has 48 unified shader/vertex pipelines ? Did you also know that this is the first time EVER this has been done on a video card, and is quite revolutionary ? Did you know not ONE pc GPU does that ? Did you know that on paper the 360's GPU is 4-6 times as powerful as the RSX (as it can in theory dedicate all 48 pipelines to pure vertex calculations) So right there you just proved your an idiot by saying the 360's GPU is just a PC GPU....uh no, it's far from it...and IT WAS designed custom for the 360, that's why it also has the EDRAM.....silly vietone, maybe someday you will realise the 360 is better then the PS3....
