VGA's God of War III footage confirmed to be real-time graphics |

One of which was David Jaffe: he said the game looks like a painting come to life. And before that, when some info was leaked from a Sony staff meeting in London, the source mentioned that they were shown GoW3 as well, and none of them could tell if it was CGI or not.
Well, we're not sure if VGA's footage will be the same as those shown to Jaffe and the Sony staff, but do hear this: Geoff Keighley of Spike TV has confirmed that the God of War III footage to hit VGA will most definitely be real-time graphics!
Woot! Here's hoping we all get to see the video online as soon as it gets shown during the event! For now, we'll be leaving you with this piece of magnificent GoW3 footage - the one from E3 2008. I wonder though... was this in real-time too?

CG or not, still looks awsome.
i just cant w8 for this game ----
what is CG nd what is real time? my thoughts are CG is cut scene graphics nd real time is ingame graphics... if what i think is true then no way this video could be in game graphics... it just looks way too good..lol... proly next gen consoles will have this kinda in game graphics.
CG stands for computer generated, with this you can basicly make the best looking trailer for the game even if it looks nothing like it really now, real time graphics are used using the actual game engine, and as its using the game engine its how it will look when it fully released this will be the best looking game of this gen i can feel it!!
Simply put, anything done withing the engine of the game in question is real time. Both gameplay (what you would see while playing) and cutscenes can be real time. As long as the models and techniques available to the engine and system are what are producing the image then it is real time. On the opposite side of things is "CG" or Computer Generated - which is compiled on a system (or multiple systems) over a much longer period of time to produce a jaw dropping looking product which the power of current gaming systems simply can't pull off. Cutscenes can be in real time or CG - tho MOST games these days go the in game route, as CG is more and more frowned upon as it seems.
I don't care if the graphics suck for this game. All I know is that that was the best Teaser Trailer I have ever seen in the history of gaming. Hooks you in and leaves you wanting more. Yes I will buy this game because of that beautiful Teaser Trailer. Wow just wow.
If a cut scene is rendered in real time it uses the power of the console and is constrained to the limitations of the system but takes up less space on disk by reusing textures and objects. CG is pre-rendered on (think disney or pixar movie) so it looks great but takes up alot more space on the disk. MGS4 was all real-time but still took up 50GB. if it had been pre-rendered cutscenes it would be nearly impossible to fit on one bluray. it would have been multiple bluray discs. I'm sure GOW3 will look great.
They have to be doing some crazy shyt if this is realtime and not pre-rendered.... Just to be a technical ass, everything done on consoles is CG, it's the difference between pre-rendered and realtime.... I honestly cannot see this trailer being realtime....if it is, even without physics and AI, well....PS3 definately is the beast Sony claimed.....guess we will see at VGA.....but seriously, doing that water in realtime would be....wow....
the ps3 could have done that water, but having it in a game would be stupid. it would have been like: water 87%. actual game 13%.

but that's not the VGA footage he's talking about in the article. that's the e3 one. it looks pre-rendered, but i dunno. but yeah i agree, the e3 trailer looks awesome. just wished we knew if we can expect graphics like that in the game! can't wait for december 14!!!!!!
All said mate :D I can't wait for 2009 and 2010...games will look so awesome! Better start saving some money to buy those...
