Valve: Why don't you believe us? Left 4 Dead is not coming to PS3!

Left 4 Dead not for PS3 - Image 1

Let's put this rumor to rest once and for all, shall we? Is Left 4 Dead coming or not to the PlayStation 3? Valve's Chet Faliszek gives out a definitive statement sealing the fate of the much-rumored port to the PS3:

Many people say that they heard rumors that Left 4 Dead is coming to PS3, however despite telling them this isn't true they still don't believe us, what more can we say than it is not.

Yeah, why don't you believe them when they say it's not coming? Ironically enough, this rumor takes on the character of the zombies that stubbornly just won't die no matter how many shots you fire at it.

But there, hopefully we won't hear any more of these speculations that Left 4 Dead still has a fighting chance of seeing the light of day on the PS3. Unless there really is some hope somewhere. Tracing it back, I think it's Doug Lombardi's fault. Remember that interview he had back in March? He said:  "If folks want to do a PS3 version, we're open to talk with third parties about that." Turns out that was just a probability - a very vague probability.

So don't get your hopes up every single time a "source from inside" says there's talks on a PS3 port for Left 4 Dead. We'll probably hold Faliszek on his word for this one now.

people believ this because the orange box was released for the ps3. IMO, l4d is more like a mod than a game.

i'm fine with gmod 10.

He said this at a Microsoft event so of course they won't say it will be on PS3. EA will eventually port it to PS3 and I think everyone already knows this by now.

Dont care at all for this one. Now when they announce the PS3 version of Star Ocean 4 is when my ears will perk up.

» sigh

I wish this will come out on PS3 since it is a network coop game...

» meh.

Even though I'm a Valve fan, I'm passing on this one. If I wanted it bad enough I'd just get it for PC, but the game looks more like a mod than anything else. I'd have more fun playing the Zombie mode in COD5 or screwing around in Gmod.

» A mod?

The Source engine has been completely rehauled. Try playing the demo, if you have a decent PC. It's awesome. Reason enough to upgrade your PC.

That's an almost ironic statement considering no one gives a damn. We don't want Valve on PS3. I personally don't want Valve on PC or any other platform.

We know. We don't care. Shut up about it and stop selling your game to Xbox fanboys simply on the basis of platform favoritism. If you can't say something redeeming about your game, then your game is not worth anyones time.

You have nothing good to say about your game itself. You are a waste of everyone's time.

» oh well

i was going to get this but this just puts values rubish programming for the ps3 theyll never learn it properly so screw them,. resident evil 5 and cod5 will be much better anyway, theyll at least have a decent plot

» WTF!?!?!?!?!?!

I, for one, an individual, which in my own divine right, can speak my humble opinion, doesnt care about this game. All it is is running through the woods killing people. Who cares. The same as every other FPS (first person shooter) that exists on the video game industry store shelf.

» The game is better on PC

Personally I own a PS3, and even if it did come out for the PS3 I wouldn't buy it. Because of the benefits I'd get with it being on a PC, the updates are more frequent etc...so in the long run it would be better anyways.

I also think the game is great, so if nobody has tried out the demo you can't really state what you think on what you haven't experienced.
