That's awesome!
But is the PS3 powerful enough to play Nintendo games? Hehehe
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past here I come!!!
This isn't the PS3 hardware playing the games.
This is the old PS2 disc Swap Magic with it's elf loader running PS2 homebizzle.
So the backwards compatibility chips are playing this.
Although it's still an idea, it's a shame that this will only work on the ooooooooooooool d 20/60gb models
It will work on the 80s as well. The 40 is the only one that won't work with this.
That's nice but seems like alot to go thru just to play some old S/NES game..
...this requires a PS2 backwards compatible PS3 to run this PS2 homebrew.
If Sony releases technical documents of the hypervisor (and possibly even enable RSX access), we could see an unofficial OtherOS devkit, so homebrew/emulators can be programmed to run without running Linux.
whay people try to playall this game on consolas with they can play on the PC with no problems
requires 1.90 and below
1. That was a joke ;p
2. Yup, the 80GB models as well.
Why do you assume that everyone who owns a PS3 also owns a PC?
Mind, the odds are really high.
Just run the emulators in Yellow Dog Linux... Works for ALL PS3s everytime.
It doesn't take long to setup and it runs perfect. SNES and Sega Genesis anyway, haven't tried any others.
Though I don't know how well an N64 emulator would work on the PS2 hardware... The RSX is blocked on Linux... Now, if I can get a Dreamcast emulator running, that's something I'd try.
cuz i dont feel like formatting my entire harddrive! thats why
playing on pc was nice some years ago but err, playing on the TV is way better!!!
I have everything except the swap disc which my cousin owns...:'( oh well, very easy tutorial. i just have to wait til i get that swap magic disc from my cousin. thanks qj.
can u send me the files i can get it nowhere plz to pr787coqui@yaho o.com
I guess sony forgot to patch Swap Magic for the BC PS2.
