There's still no word from THQ about this matter except for the generic "No comment" when 1UP contacted them, but come to think of it, this writer can't even recall THQ saying that Saints Row would be an exclusive to one console, either... Hence, the Rumor bin. Sure, it is a rumor. THQ might say something else, and EBGames will simply and quietly pull the page with nary a word of apology, but still, it does point to what everyone argues is a multiplatform world - and it is, well, refreshing to see the flow of games go in the other direction, too.
UPDATE: That was fast. Almost as fast as a heist in Stilwater. The EBGames URL where the listing for the PS3 version of Saint's Row no longer works. Quietly pulled the page with nary a word of apology, just as predicted. THQ hasn't said anything else, though, so this rumor could still go either way. Either that or there's supposed to be an embargo on this news until THQ says it's time for everyone to break out the news.

Halo 3 release date of Oct 1 07, Halo 3 preorders taken in March 06, Gamestop brand 360 HDMI........... anyone who scours the Gamestop website to get info on release dates prior to public announcement is a pure idiot. I worked there up until recently and every time one of these things pops up on the website we tell our customers to ignore it because it will be gone tomorrow. And it happens more often than you think.
Yeah I thought Saints Row was alright. With GTA4 coming out at the end of this year they would want to release it soon for the PS3, because I can see no point buying this game if you have GTA4.

Something that keeps happening with EB Games and GameStop's websites is that whenever they list a game before it has been announced, it gets announced later. Remember Oblivion for the PSP and PS3? Both were listed on GameStop's (or EB Games) website and both were later announced a couple months later.
Why is San Andreas even on there? Both GTA3 and Vice City are better than it.

Really? most games are *****? Is that why the ps3 only is not selling well? At my wal-mart there are 2 20gb and 2 60gbs and no one is buying them. And i live in a big city. sad sad fanboys.
The question is "Can the PS3 handle the Graphics of the game?" I know it is not graphically anything special on the 360 compared with the bigger 360 titles but it could strain the weaker PS3s graphic capability.
It's tough to be the top dog, and Sony has been king of the mountain ever since PlayStation first arrived on the scene. Although the media has been trying to sway the competition between PS3 and Wii every way they possibly can, there are still a precious few websites that are objective. And objectively speaking, PS3 is the Best New Console of 2006, not Wii -- so says the highly respected website IGN. A portion of the glowing writeup follows:

this is a game that should be left alone. got it on my 360, seriously, this game is not worthy spending £5 ons, i got it free and still regret even having it on my collection of games. a complete rip off of gta, plus i ripped off everything of gta and the game still sucks.
the thing is that, all the games were just ported to the ps3, and the arcitexture of the two consoles are very diffrent, plus remember xbox original, all the games look naff cos the were all ps2 convert, so really, ps3 need games purely designed its system to see the diffrence
