Although the player's favorite gun seems to be the rocket launcher (still three-barrelled, we noticed), other oldies such as the plasma rifle, the shock rifle and (ooh-la-la) flak cannon will be making the cut for UT3. All weapons seem to have been redesigned from the ground up, looking...err...a little freakier...than the ones in Unreal Tournament 2004.
Keep a keen ear toward the announcer's voice, too. The entire look of the game seems to have gone down a much grimmer road. Epic Game's masterpiece being marketed under Gears of War's shadow is set for release at the later half of 2007 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

the same old arena style fps...
also which has of course been done over and over again
and i think most of us are sick of it. this game will be no more fun than doom3's and quake's multiplayer arena style.
you just run around real fast with many different weapons and shoot, respawn, shoot, respawn, yawn yawn yawn
come on guys i see no good things coming from this game
just a *****bag title.

The Unreal Engine is a bad*** piece of software, but why am I not having the eye-gasm I was promised? Yeah, I know that the game will look better at 720p or higher, but even the gameplay looks ... i dunno... 'tired'.
Well, I won't complain if the PC, X360 and PS3 gamers can play with/against eachother. Imagine the balls-to-the-walls grudge matches between teams of console fanboys!!

This game is and will be better than Gears of War - the multiplayer is stale and repetitive... Unreal 2007 will easily outsell it and will please fans a hell of a lot more...

from what ive seen i really doubt it, gears is still on top of xbox live and for good reason with its team work strategizing, flanking and balanced gameplay style. Where as this is still the same old gameplay style as i could have got on my N64 playing quake

Eye candy will only carry the game for a few weeks then ppl will forget about it, if their is no fresh gameplay...

where is it here unreal same as 2004 just looks a little more visual, to be honest it does not even look that much better than 2004. my opinion, you buy this game your a jack ass

Rocket launcher hoggers will get stomped by Flak cannon monkeys. One order of ionized flechettes coming right up.
"The announcer is the same announcer that you could use in UT2003/UT2004. Nothing new. Just another person at QJ who doesn't know what they're talking about. Not so much a flame as a reminder to have people that have experience with the software talking about it unless you want anyone who is actually knowledgeable to think you're a bunch of idiots."
There are only two default (and packaged) male voices in the UAX files of UT2004. One is the classic UT voice from GOTYE, the other is the Sean-Connery+reverb+ environment-spatial DSPed type voice of UT2003 fame.
Unless you have really crappy speakers (or crappy eardrums) you'd note that the voice took a more husky tone. He's even more hurried with the Ultra Kill phrase. Or haven't you heard someone pretend to be older over the phone yet?

Final word: Gears of War is a great game. But comparing it to Unreal Tournament is kinda out of respect.
