Unreal Tournament 3 PS3 shipping date announced - Image 1

Word was sent via press wire that the Sony PlayStation 3 version of Unreal Tournament 3 (Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3, Windows PC) is in fact scheduled to be shipped to game shelves in North America by December 10 - that's on Saturday next week. However, Epic Games warns that the initial stock and succeeding shipments thereafter will be in limited quantities.

There has been no word on when other territories will get their share of Unreal Tournament 3 for their Sony console, and there has been no forecast when supplies will normalize to accommodate the holiday season demand. But what has been confirmed is the suggested shelf price which amounts to US$ 59.95.

So break those piggy banks and count those savings, because there's another game you might want to add to your lengthy Christmas shopping list. More information to be thrown in for Unreal Tournament 3 on the PlayStation 3 as we get them.

» Idk about one thing

The PC version dosnt have mic. support.

If the PS3 version dosnt have that included I dont think im gunna buy this game.

This games single player is gunna suk. And online is gunna suk if theres no way to communicate (it'll remind me of FEAR or somthing.)

Can anyone find out if it'll have mic support?

Who doesn't buy a game because of mic. support....?

Quite frankly, i wouldn't mind if UT3 didn't have it. It means 12-year-old kids that play the game will have one less thing to annoy everyone else with. As long as keyboards are supported (which i believe they are) communicating with other people in-game won't be a problem. And previous UT's single player was never great, but they've supposedly improved it in UT3.. we'll see i guess.

I'm really looking foward to this game, and hopefully Epic will have released it across all regions come Christmas time.

» well...

Communication is a must in the game industry... and a shooter that can't communicate with a mic is a shame really.. and the ps3 doesn't support a keyboard like the 360 one in the same controller...

by jrm125 - 2007-11-27 01:31
» someone_pr has it all wrong

the PS3 one DOES support mouse and keyboard...the 360 does not. Get your facts right.

Someone_PR was talking about the little *****ed up keyboard you can hook to your X360 controler.

I'd prefer to have a normal keyboard sitting on my lap though, much easier to use.

by Someone_PR - 2007-11-27 06:28
» what I said is...

that the ps3 doesn't have a keyboard in the same controller for easy typing... the ps3 have to plug an usb or bluetooth keyboard to type... I like confort and freedom when I want communication... I didn't even talked about the game... Jesus... I was just responding to Moving_Target about he doesn't care about mic support

By the PC version the single player in UT3 is basically multiplayer modes with bots on it (and you get to choose your map or battle, the story line being to beat the bad guys lol) So I dont really see that as "improved". But Im one who plays shooters online & likes to actually talk (NOT USE THE KEYBOARD) and be able to communicate. If a game in the next gen dosnt have mics. then hell yea im one of the people who "wont buy a game because of mic. support".

Communication is key in all online games, and if it dosnt have that then why am I playing with my friends if I cant even talk with them online? lol if the online is messed up because of that then I wont buy the game (cause theres nothing special about the single player at all.) It'll end up being like Cod3 or FEAR, both games that where great but really suked online cause of no mics.

You act like there really that many annoying little kids on PSN (its not like XBL with the little kid problem I hear.) Anyways idc about the other people I just care about my friends online that I wanna be able to talk and joke around with while im whipping some ass online.

» Why Not...

...just use a keyboard and mouse on the PS3. The PS3 does support keyboard and mouse and I thought in the past there was some info floating around saying that the PS3 version you would be able to do that.
