Uncharted 2 teaser trailer was rendered in real-time |
Ó
So what's the big deal you ask? The big deal is that this means the whole game will be as beautifully rendered as this:
And just to underline the matter, Diamant further explains:
The in game models are the exact same models that are used in the cutscenes. They also use the exact same textures. There really is no difference between them at all.
The only difference between the cutscenes and in game is a little higher quality lighting and shadowing. Hopefully not too noticeably different. We really wanted to keep the players immersed as much as possible. This meant using the same assets across the board.

THAT IS FREAKING AWESOME!!!
With a game like Killzone 2 being rendered in 1080i NATIVE Res, even after I played the beta, that seems impossible but it's really awesome.
Also recall how Insomniac stated earlier that Uncharted 1 only used 30-40% of the system's strength. Well, here's some proof.
Btw, I thought it was a CGI cutscene when I saw it a few days ago.
Yeah this is cool...
I pretty much expect this now, so I had no doubts it was in-game...plus I think Sony learned it's leason about announcing games with CG...
It should be really good, the first game was not ground breaking, but did alot of really nice small touches you didn't/don't see in most games (like a variable wind that blew grass/branches differently, instead of a steady swaying)
It will be good to see more of the game, but it will interesting to see how much further they push the PS3 with the studios 2nd titles..
Especially for the snow, that really moves with the feets of the character and when he fall on the snow. That's really well done.
Is one of the reasons I really want a PS3 and this just adds to it.
