Naughty Dog continues to tease and impress with these new screenshots for Nathan's next adventure, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. If you were amazed by the previous screens and artworks, then better be ready to up that meter cos the details in this batch are off the charts.
Just take a look at that image above. The dust flying off the wall after being hit by the bullet looks like it's been captured straight off a live action sequence. You can even see faintly the trajectory of the bullet.
But apart from these screens, we've also got some more details as to how this sequel will play out. Gametrailers got to catch a very privileged "tour", so to speak, of the development of Among Thieves behind the scenes, and boy, are the tidbits juicy.
So far we already know that Nathan's adventure here concerns Marco Polo's lost fleet. Additional details reveal taht he travels across the globe, from the South Pacific to Nepal and the Himalayas, in search of the Shamabala and the legendary sapphire that will probably be worth billions - the Cintamani Stone.
What also got me excited is the fact that Nathan can now shoot back at his enemies, even while he's climbing back walls. Kinda reminds me of Lara's move, but if Naughty Dog says this one's gonna be better than Tomb Raider, and based from what I've seen in the original title, I'd be bound to agree. And then, he'd also be able to hang from a building sign to use it for cover and then peek over to shoot fire.
Enemies are gonna be more intelligent - we already know that. But other than that, they'll also be carrying weapons, like shields, and you can pick these up as well when you kill them - a good addition to your armory. Oh, and when they said the AI will be more intelligent, as in they will hunt Nathan down. So get ready to run. Stealthily, of course.
The other thing that poses such a curious element is the arrival of Chloe, the new girl. Well, actually, she's not new - at least in Drake's life. She's his new partner in the game, but apparently, she's also his Aussie girlfriend (there goes Elena, I guess). They go way back, in terms of knowing each other. As to whether they got together only in Among Thieves or before/ after Elena (or while he was with Elena? *gasp*), am not too sure.
What they do say about Chloe, and this bit I can't wait to see for myself, is that she's "Nathan's equal in every way." She's sounding like a really important character. So it's possible that they'll make her playable as well, but it's more likely that they'll go for co-op. Man, that would be sweet!
Too bad though her shots in the screens are always from the back. The images I've seen of her so far are mere artworks.

My only hopes for this game is that they bring the same voice actors on the first game back. Other than that I'm sure this game is going to be great.
Oh Yeah. Is it sure that this game will be released this year?

I know what you mean by the voices. So far as I've seen, there's one returning character we know of, and that's (of course) Nathan Drake. And Nolan North (who voices in Prince of Persia, too.) is returning to voice Nathan.

Well... honestly, without Elena or Sully... there really is just Nathan eh? So as long as Nolan is returning as Drake, we're set!
I can't wait! Looks so awesome.
Now, this is the game I most want. The first one was fantastic and I have faith in Naughty Dog that the sequel should be even more amazing and hugely enjoyable.
