UK gets inFamous Special Edition, Uncharted 2 beta not included

Well that's a bit of a damper: as it turns out, the Uncharted 2 beta access codes come as an exclusive only for Play UK's offer of inFamous. Now you're pit against a rather difficult choice: will you get inFamous for the Uncharted 2 beta... or for other freebies?

Retailers across the UK will be offering a Special Edition for Sucker Punch Productions' PS3-exclusive sandbox game. This gets you a copy of inFamous, some collectible postcards, a comic, and a promotional code which unlocks a special power for Cole McGrath.

Though details of what the special power will be weren't revealed, we do know that North America's pre-order code unlocks the Gigawatt Blades ability. As described by Electronic Theater, UK's Special Edition comes with an exclusively different super power:

Exactly what this power is remains a mystery, and opinions currently range from an ability that is unlockable during the course of the game (after a series of extended mission objectives) to an entirely new power only available in this Special Edition package.


We'll keep tabs on whether the inFamous Special Edition will also arrive stateside, as well as whether any stores in North America also have an exclusive deal for the Uncharted 2 beta key.

I found this out yesterday morning and sent a tip in to QJ. Wasn't sure if it got through because it came up with an error both times I tried to submit. :S



I planned on getting inFamous anyway but, when I found out that an Uncharted 2 beta code was available with the pre-order, I pre-ordered it immediately.



I'd enjoy a spot on the Uncharted 2 public beta a lot more than some art cards and a comic.
