Ubisoft buys Massive Entertainment, takes World in Conflict brand with them |
Ó
Not everyone's feeling the economic pinch, apparently. Ubisoft has acquired yet another company to take under its wing, this time adding Massive Entertainment to their list of purchases.Massive Entertainment has indeed left the ship of Activision Blizzard to join Ubisoft, taking along with it all assets and personnel, as well as the RTS brand World in Conflict (PS3, Xbox 360, PC).
Executive Director of worldwide productions at Ubisoft, Christine Burgess-Quemard, says:
We are delighted to welcome the talented team of creators at Massive into the Ubisoft family. Ubisoft is growing at an intense pace and our strategy is to ensure the strength of our global creative teams.
Massive Entertainment shares the same sentiments, expressing their delight at the move to Ubisoft's backyard via their president and founder, Martin Walfisz:
We are fortunate to have found in Ubisoft a publisher who shares the same values and understands our mindset. I have no doubt that our future together will offer significant mutual benefit and synergy.
Looks like we can look forward to shooters in this new tagteam. No word yet as to what other projects they'll be working on for the near future, but it's safe to say there'll be another World in Conflict installment coming along our way pretty soon.
