Ubisoft adopts amBX for Hell's Highway, Far Cry 2, other games |

Ó

Philips and Ubisoft just formed a partnership that will add support for amBX in Ubisoft Montreal's Far Cry 2 and Gearbox Software's Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway (Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows). This may be the reason why Ubisoft previously announced delays to both games.
But it appears that other current Ubisoft games will also benefit from the recent deal, because it was also said that respective patches will soon be out to support amBX technology. However, the games which will gain support have not been named.
amBX is short for "ambient experiences," and amBX devices are not limited to visual and audio cues. Wind effects can be felt using speedfans, and full rumble and recoil is available for vehicle and weapon feedback. What's more is that the experience courses through the entire game and not just during gameplay.
But because you've got to experience it to believe it, Philips has set up a booth at the Consumer Electronics Show, Central 12124, to demonstrate the enhancements amBX could bring to the table for Hell's Highway and Far Cry. They'll be there until January 10, so if you're stopping by, you may want to go see for yourself.
