Blast that typewriter away! - Image 1If there's one thing that's a constant familiar in the Resident Evil franchise, it's the typewriter save system. How many times have you frantically retraced your steps back to that closet where this lone typewriter sits just so you could preserve your progress especially after that grueling zombie-chasing scene in the backyard?

Unfortunately, we won't be getting that in Resident Evil 5 (PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360), this according to none other than game producer Jun Takeuchi. Said he, "Actually, I really like typewriters; they're really typical of the Resident Evil series. But this time, he save system will be a combination of checkpoints and chapters."

Looks like even in game land, the typewriter is left to accumulate cobwebs in a corner. Sad, but hey, you have to leave something behind in order to move forward. For the rest of what Takeuchi spilled in the interview, check out EGM's November issue.

» I think this is Capcoms way of making Shinji Makami angry.

Thats why they took out the Typewriter.

Shinji Mikami is the original person behind RE series, NOT this guy, that maybe the reason why hes taking the typewriter out, its cause he hates Shinji.
