Turok's New Screenshots

Maybe you'll remember Turok more for its disappointing PS2 release by Acclaim. The developers and publishers of this new version of the game promise that it's going to be a far cry from the old version.

The new team behind Turok is made up of Buena Vista and Propaganda Games people. They promise to bring something close to the Nintendo 64 classic, Turok the Dinosaur Hunter, that would be better enjoyed by gamers. Turok is still a first-person shooter, but developers say that there will be some third-person elements incorporated into the game to make it more exciting. The game will be mission-based, and the transitions from place to place are said to be seamless.

According to developers, most parts of the game will be “human vs. human” but there will also be parts of the game where players can use the environment and the genetically mutated dinosaurs as weapons. The story takes place in the future and centers on Joseph Turok, an ex-Black Ops commando now a soldier of an elite team. The team's mission is to hunt down Turok's mentor who turned evil. As the team goes after Turok's mentor, the plane crashes on an island filled with genetically-mutated creatures and hostile enemy forces.

Turok is scheduled for release sometime this year for both handhelds and current and next-gen consoles.

As this is the 1st post, let me be the first to say WA WA WEEE WAAAA, the xbox 360 2nd gen games are miles ahead of its 1st gen contribution. Imagine if games looked like this on launch, the 360s wudnt be sitting on store shelves getting neglected. But looks like MS is starting to fullfill its promise.

Mogungo says bring on 2nd gen games. Makes the ps3 look less impressive as a machine now, though its still gonna be awesome, its lost most of its impact in the wow factor in the graphics department.

Far out... this is looking to be something awesome... and it's about time - turok had heaps od potential, i think it needed some next-gen hardware to really kick off...

pass where you cant make turok games anymore because of all those suicides and spontaneous human combustion? I thought they did. Looks good though graphically, let's hope this one isnt landfill like the rest.

human to human with some dinosaurs into the mix should be reallllllllllly good.

only thing that i hate on the original Turok was fighting gay ass aliens!@!@!2121 and stupid indoor environments... for crying out loud the game was called "Turok DINOSAUR Hunter" not alien hunter...
