It's been a while since we last heard from Turok, and we can't blame you guys if some have no idea what this is about (no thanks to a gazillion of other FPSes out there). That said, we could use a recap for the sorry mortals who missed this bad ass series.

Dating back to the days of N64, there was this game in which players could arm themselves with futuristic weapons as they explore a jungle in fear of getting eaten alive - by dinosaurs. This ain't your generic Jurassic Park fanfare; Turok was received well enough to establish a name of its own.

After several games the series spawned, Turok is finally going next-gen (PS3, Xbox 360) thanks to Disney Interactive Games and developer Propaganda Games. So far, we know that the hero is ex-black ops specialist Joseph Turok set in an entirely new planet to track down his former mentor.

To get an idea of what to expect, here's game director Joel Manners in an interview with IGN as he talks about the massive scope of the game, the living, breathing jungle, cinematic close combat, and a huge variety of explosive weapons at the player's disposal.

We hate to make you wait, so here's the video. Enjoy!

WOW

Well, I never thought I'd say it about Turok but it's pretty impressive and the amount of blood and action is very satisfying... Looks to be a good game (Hopefully)

Hmmm

Looks good to me, I bet that Melee cut-sequence thing will get old after a while, unless they have uber amounts of different melee possibilites like they did in Dead-To-Rights.

Wow

This looks bad ass. Judging from this video. This game could rival Gears for the baddest shooter out there. It looks amazing , not just graphically but gameplay wise as well. I can't wait to get my hands on this. I hope they don't f*u*c*k it up with the PS3 version like so many other developers have done. Well all except for 2K Games with The Darkness. Id rather get it for my PS3 than for my 360 just because they can fit more content on the blu-ray plus now the PS3 has accomplishments and Home will be out soon. I'm only buying 360 exclusives for my 360 everything else I'm buying on my PS3. Multiplayer on my PS3 is free and I'm not paying uncle bill money to play online.

you said it, wow

i don't think you need to compare it to anything.. no saying gears sucks.. blah blah whatever. i haven't played gears myself so i wouldn't be able to make a comparison like that anyways, HOWEVER.. what i can say: this game looks _FUN_!!!

af

This doesnt look at good as gears, but it does look good. But rival it? Come on, who are you kidding? The only game that will look even close to Gears will be Unreal Tournament, and thats made by the same company anyways. Also, The Darkness performs better on 360 than it does on PS3. The same problems (shading, framerate, etc) that occur in most multiplat games also plague the darkness. I guess you havent seen the side by side comparissons yet. The only thing the ps3 version has is longer tv scenes. Oooh, wow. 2 more minutes of Popeye! So far, everything the ps3 has over the 360 has basically been one big joke after another. You guys really appear desperate.
