Chomp goes the Trex, Bang goes the Turok!

Dinosaurs are coming, and guess who's ready to blast them back to the prehistoric era but the dino-daredevil himself, Joseph Turok. He's back! And now Turok's going for the PS3 and Xbox 360! While we posted these two new pics, we've already given you some screenshots (ZOMG, they're jaw-dropping) before. But now let's take a closer look at the game itself.

1UP was able to have a sit-down with developer Joseph Holmes (no relation to Sherlock) from Propaganda Games, and talk more about the resurrected Turok franchise.

The developers have taken a similar approach from the previous installments, but are now aiming to steer it to an exciting new direction. Turok fans will surely recognize familiar elements. While the original games are sort of becoming more and more far-fetched, the developers are trying to stick to the basics and scrap the whole deal of gun-wielding raptors and psycho cyborgs from the previous games. They're now going to rely on terrifying creatures and human enemies that use special tactics to hunt you down.

As for the gameplay, they've decided to use a damage system that doesn't involve a health bar, along with other nifty features to make the game more absorbing. With the visuals and gameplay, they're trying to instill a deep sense of primal fear in the gamers. And so far, it seems as if they're successful at that. Just looking at those T-rex pics (thanks to 1UP) gives us goosebumps!
