"So brutal it's never going on the Internet." This is the very statement of the developers of the much-anticipated God of War III over at Sony's Santa Monica Studio. If it does land on the big W, it's not gonna be from them. "They're not just appropriate for some audiences." *cue Stewey Griffin: Oohh, absolutely titillating!*

Expect a whole lot of bloody gore

How brutal could it possibly be? Well for one, there's their new toy, the Zipper Technology, which the devs have so wanted to have for so long, but only got it now that there's the PS3. What this does exactly is to realistically disembowel enemies, basically. In the Official PlayStation Magazine, it is explicitly described how you will see Kratos gut out a centaur in vivid, graphic detail, stomach, guts, intestines and all oozing out of the poor beast.

Apart from that gore, there will also be some real-time action, such as Kratos fighting on the back of a character who's climbing up a mountain. God of War III director, Stig Asmussen, waxes poetic about the epic scale of the game, describing it as having single level from the game's predecessors being able to "fit in the palm of a Titan's hand" in this latest franchise installment.

Lead programmer Vassily Flippov echoes this sentiment: "Everything to do with Titan gameplay is only possible because of the power of the SPU processors. It wouldn't be possible without them, we just couldn't pull it off otherwise.. no way."

So, will God of War III be the epic conclusion to the franchise? Technically, yes, it will be the end of the story. However, it certainly does not mean it will be the end of the franchise. Said producer Steve Caterson, "That particular story arc is part of a much larger universe and a rich tapestry of things that can be tapped into at other times." As to whether or not Kratos will come back in the future, "Oh, there are all kinds of possibilities. All kinds of possibilities."

Can't wait, can't wait.

I've heard this before. I'm glad they got the zipper tec for this game. It's going give this game some good stuff. I just hope people don't over-hype this. This is looking like a GOTY title for the PS3 come 2010. And definitely this isn't the end for the franchise, I mean they have the Viking gods(mythology) Egyptian Mythology...etc. Hell they could make a PSP spinoff of Kratos brother. That'd be cool.
