THQ Inc, developer of Xbox 360 title Saint's Row, has signed a deal with Epic Games to utilize its Unreal 3 Engine technology in next-generation consoles.

Jack Sorensen, executive vice president of worldwide studios, THQ, said: "Unreal Engine 3 is widely regarded as a premier next-generation engine technology. We plan to complement our own proprietary engines with the Unreal Engine technology to create truly innovative gameplay experiences on both next-gen consoles and Windows PC."

If Saint's Row is any indication of THQ's future titles, then we should brace ourselves for more explosive and action-packed titles using Unreal 3 Engine.

In case anyone missed what Saints Row looks like. It looks nothing next gen at all. Might be fun, but wat a rip off...how come GTA isnt suing infringement fines on THQ now thats something obvios..unlike the lawsuit with the company that makes rumblers in the ps2 controllers that sued sony and won just now causing them to pull ps2 off shelfes... OUCH kinda ironic how they got backstabbed...

That's not ironic at all, its just unfortunate for Sony. I'd say saint's row looks pretty next gen to me, not Oblivion style pretty but theres much more going on. And remember its still only a 1st generation game.

Also you can't sue someone for making the same type of game as someone else. Otherwise need for speed would be the only racing game available (shudder). If they'd called it GTA, then Rockstar can sue.

Saint's Row does look impressive when compaired to GTA. The enviornments look much cleaner and more realistic. Character models, while better, still lack next gen goodness. And Saint's Row suffers from a bad case of the jaggies as well. But Still a better looking game when added detail in the world and advanced lighting. Should be a very fun game with great replay value like GTA. Cant wait.

Oh im sure you can wait when the next GTA will be on PS3 and noones gona be playing SAINTS ROW. What i dont like about this game is its the same damn rip-off from GTA even the hand icon to the map icon to the pedestrian voices...this is the worst shamefull rip-off from rockstar. But what i am hapy with is the 12 people multiplayer game you can play. Im prety proud of that becuz finally you will have an open world game w/ multiplayer aspect in it...unlike GTA. What im not happy w/ the MP is the games they have...they sound prety lame from the interview and 12 people is a very small amount of players on such a big city like that... this should be developed as a MMO type of game where there are at least 50 players in there.
