The Teasing Saga continues - Kojima's teaser now comes with what could be Raiden and a Mask

The Kojima teasing continues. This time, you won't have to wait for letters flashing behind the countdown on the damn teaser site, which is a good thing because I am just sick of watching all that rain and lightning. If you click at the Kojima Productions logo at the bottom right corner (which eerily changes into a face), you'll be redirected to a new teaser page, featuring yet another debacle that may point to Kojima's new game.

Mask - Image 1

Simply called the "Mask," this new teaser neither has a timer nor characters flashing every few seconds. What it does have is some creepy music and flickering light. Sometimes, the mask would turn into...

Mask breals - Image 1

Back at the main page, we have some guy who appears to be Raiden, except he's a little blown up. So maybe this is Gray Fox when he had some semblance of a human face? I'm stumped.

Raiden? - Image 1

New letters have also surfaced - C, 6 (or G) and O. Adding to the list, we've got: e, 3, E, R, P, 5 (or S). It may have been my imagination playing with me for watching the site too long, but I think it spelled out "CORPSE" at some point. I dunno. That sounds much more probable than my other lame theory,  "GROPES 36e" which I'm sure Kojima won't make a game about. Any new theories guys?

Kojima, this had better be a @#$%^&!! great game!

» Gray FOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome I am sure thats gray fox...

This should be a remake for 1 and 2.

Which will be epic!

by Cortador - 2009-05-28 19:59
» Hmmm

DAMN!1!1!

Now, i'm freaking scared after seeing those pictures.

by Adamska118 - 2009-05-28 21:13
» Is it Raiden?

Im not sure anyone has noticed this... But the white haired guy in one of the pics has brown eyes, Raiden in MGS4 (and i presume also MGS2) has blue eyes, unless Kojima has done more reconstruction on Raiden im putting my money with Grey Fox.

by ___ - 2009-05-28 22:24
» No Its not

What you said is true Raiden has blue eyes. It's either Grey Fox like you said. Or Raiden's son.

by blazekingeking - 2009-05-28 23:05
» Not raiden

It's Sunny. We were talking about this in another forum. She has the same hazel eyes and the same hairstyle from MGS4.

It's someone from that family (Maybe Olga).

Everybody forgets about the Beauties and the Beasts.

All of the MGS4 baddies were female soldiers; The wolf, the mantis, the raven, and the octopus.

by Adamska118 - 2009-05-28 23:22
» Thats true.

If i remember rightly solidus shot olga in the head, possibly through the eye im not sure if that was shown. The 2 bolts on the New Ninjas head could be where a plate has been put in place perhaps?

by telebron1 - 2009-05-29 00:46
» New MGS confirmed

Metal gear solid 5 will be feature a 300 hour cutscene, 2 mins of gameplay and will be "the last MGS game" but a year later another sequal will be made which will be even worse than before!

» lol

Man I can tell that Kojima loves to tease his fans when he works on a new game lol.

by Digitus - 2009-05-29 05:10
» Clone

Is more likely if you ask me. I doubt Kojima would waste time designing a human GRAY-Fox and have him look identical to Raiden minus eye color and forehead markings. A clone (like Snake) would make more sense for such a minor change in appearance. That or its just Raiden but after MGS4's conclusions...maybe. Either way, Gray-Fox is much too different in appearance to have this be even remotely related to what he would look like updated.

Anyway, I doubt this is a remake of 1&2. Its either a spin off/side story or a midquel/sequel to MGS4. But thats just me. Its too early to base the nature of the game on a few pictures. Big Boss remains the biggest puzzle right now. Don't look at him and say "remake" just because he's there because it'll warp everything else. You'll start calling Raiden Gray-Fox and Solid Snake Ocelott or something.

by papajag - 2009-05-29 06:00
» ...

No to Raiden's son. And he does have blue eyes. And has anyone else noticed the cover on his left eye? This guy just looks more badass to me.

No.. it isn't The Boss , she has got blue eyes..

I hope , that new MGS will be aviable on x360... master Kojima , please make it happen!! :DD

I don't remember if SERPA had a big role in any of the MGS titles, besides the SERPA president, right? Could the letters be spelling out SERPA for some reason? I dont wanna look thru the MGS database on my ps3, can a mgs conneisseur (sp) chime in?

by Talha03 - 2009-05-29 08:12
» There are

a few possibilites 1 it could be Gray Fox because if you check he has brown eyes and white hair. Sunny Olgas daughter she luved Raiden and maybe became a ninja?? Another possibility is a clone but has a mask on of Raiden because if you take out the eyes its like a Raiden Face camo who knows right? We will find out soon enough MGS5 is going to be a killer game plus remember Kojima luvs the PS3 and it has lots of space so it might be another PS3 exclusive around 2010-2011 because like mgs4 a trailer came out at 05 or 06 and came in 2-3 years after

» Psycho Mantis & Young Solidus?

I don't wanna touch the Grey Fox / Raiden topic, but could that infact be Psycho Mantis and possibly a reconstructed President George Sears AKA, SOLIDUS SNAKE?! If you remember, he was "killed" by Raiden at the end of Sons of Liberty. Since he was a Big Boss clone as well he should have aged quickly as did Snake and perhaps had himself cloned prior to taking Arsenal Gear. I wouldn't know where Psycho Mantis would potentially fit into anything aside from the fact that his spirit seems to linger bringing him back at Kojima's whim. Toss in a few Nanomachines here and there and we may be looking at the first MGS: Zombie game where Mantis is controlling a nanomachine-infested corps of undead soldiers for Solidus! HAHAHA okay I killed it at the end.... Still...

by NarooN - 2009-05-29 09:32
» .

I laughed... at the "Last MGS" bit.

Don't forget about Kojima not having anything to do with the game, only to come back out of "death threats" to be Supreme Assistant Director Omega.

A lot of these theories are just too idiotic for me to comment on. I'm sick of people just throwing out random guesses, and saying it'll be a remake. Kojima has no reason to remake a previous game, and he wouldn't waste time or resources like that. There hasn't even been any petitions that caught enough attention for a remake.

I don't think it Raiden. What have all the Metal Gears shared in common? The Stealth aspect. I don't think he'll make some spinoff that's just Dynasty Warriors, except with a Cyborg Ninja. Eye color alone gives it away it's not Raiden. Also, what's that on his upper left forehead?

Besides that though, looks a *lot* like Raiden, could be his son, although I forgot what eye color his son had. Think his eyes were blue as well, don't remember. About the Sunny theory...Doesn't look like her at all. She didn't look like Raiden last time I checked. Has the same hair color but that's it. It's probably a clone or something. I'm quite tired of there having to be a friggin' cyborg ninja of sort in every game now, but whatever.

No way it's any of the beauties we've seen so far.

And then again, like I said before, it could actually be Raiden, except he just got contacts or the guy who did this model failed at knowing that Raiden had blue eyes.

by Digitus - 2009-05-29 10:30
» Exactly

A remake would be a sever waste of time and coming to the conclusion that it is a remake is idiotic. The most likely answers are a clone of some kind or Raiden with a different eye color.

Lastly, Raiden isn't a cyborg ninja. He's Raiden, who is now a cyborg thanks to the patriots. Generalizing great things just to make them sound silly is just silly lol.

The name of that company angers me in a way that if Loretta angered me in that way, I would beat her ass. But seriously, I don't like that companies name, sounds like a rip off of Konami.

so thats raiden and he has a thing over his eye i guess you play as raiden

by DFresh - 2009-05-29 13:32
» hmm

he has bullet holes in his forehead, as well as a barcode. why would they use a barcode? maybe they mass produced clones of raiden and are selling them...possibly to the military for some super army or something. idk just an idea.

by ___ - 2009-05-29 14:30
» who has blue?

Cuz if you're talking about Raiden that's been said many times including by me and the other guy above me, late much? Or just not reading right ?

by yellowcard642 - 2009-05-29 14:58
» pretty sure

well we have the word "CORPSE" and a picture of Big Boss and a picture of Raiden. im pretty sure that its the story between 2 and 4 where Raiden is searching for the corpse of Big Boss. just an idea.

by Talha03 - 2009-05-29 17:33
» I think I've got it

Im thinking the game will trake place once in the future and one in the past. In the past you play as Big Boss in the area where Raiden is living his life normal and is having a great time something happens to Big Boss and they make clones just to make sure they still have some of his DNA so there are 9 clones in total 7 of them are killed/ dont make it and all have Rapid ageing Solidous aas young as Solid Snake would be kills Raidens family and then you go in the future. In the future the ninja above is a clone of Raiden but theres not just 1 of them there are many and among them is a terriost that is wearing that mask. While your going through you play as Raiden or even Kojima introduces a new soldier and you start to end this.

Wasn't Gray Fox black before he was turned all cyborg ish? I swore he was. So that couldn't be Gray Fox.

but look its like snakes eye patch why is there something over his eye then ?

by genosyde - 2009-05-30 05:58
» Whoa, you all give me a headache

Firstly, I just want to say to anyone out there that is hard up on this not being remakes of either MG1 or MG2, is truly a remarkable idiot for saying so. The fact is they very well could be. It's hard enough for gamers to go back and play a title like Final Fantasy 7 with the scale of graphics is has, but to go back and play MG1 and MG2 to gather the story in an 8-bit era, hate to break it to you, but not many people will go back and play it.

Now, going into all of this, there is one piece of evidence you all seem to be forgetting. Look at the Famitsu article, in every reference it says Kojimas 'PSP+PS3' project. MG1 and MG2 would actually be ideal games to remake for PSP considering it's a handheld system.

PS3 would be ideal to do MGS4 prequel and portray the story of Raiden searching for Big Boss. but you KNOW we need the PS3 power for it.

Also just out of curiosity, who might be on the same page as me with the Solidus theory? if you look at Les Enfants Terribles, even in the MG Database, it tells you only 2 sons were born, but the Big Boss corpse you see in MGS4 is 'Solidus's body' but how could Solidus look like Big Boss at the exact same time, if they were not either identical brothers, or clones themselves?

Solidus HAD to have been created before Liquid/Solid, and the Solidus character we faced in MGS2 turned out to be an imposter, George Sears, President of the united states of america. His only power was in the suit.

I've got a funny feeling Solidus is going to be a huge part of this MGS installation.

Anyone with me?

by genosyde - 2009-05-30 06:41
» one last thing

'The Old Man' as Kojima refers to him as, (The picture we all think is big boss)

The logo resembles Pangaea, if you look closely, where the skull takes place, is approximately where South America is on the Pangaea map. (Zanzibar)

Remake anyone? hahaha

by Talha03 - 2009-05-30 07:27
» UMMM

If you think about it firstly Solid and Liquid were born but Solid had the Dominate and Liauid had the Recessive genes so they wanted to create a clone that would look actualy as Big Boss at there time so they created Solidus he was the President in MGS1 if you all can remember Solidous was created afeter Solid and Liquid not before because if he was created befor there wold be no pint to create more clones that look like Big Boss

by genosyde - 2009-05-30 09:17
» Talha03

Then how were Zero and the AI after 'solidus' in the 70's right after the events of Les Enfants Terribles project in '72, who they THOUGHT was Big Boss?

(Watch the end of MGS4 where Big Boss tells Solid Snake about the clone that Liquid burned on the volta)

He specifically states that Zero and the AI thought Solidus was him in that Era, and who did Solid Snake burn in Metal Gear 2??

Hrrmmmm?!?

by jacobian91 - 2009-05-30 18:20
» hmmm

I'm stuck with the corpse mask.

And what's up with the Raiden thing? It's Raiden just with brown eyes. Mean anything?

by jacobian91 - 2009-05-30 18:23
» ?

DARPA Cheif?

Never heard of SERPA.

by genosyde - 2009-05-31 10:00
» hmmmm??!

The Mask has NOTHING to do with the next Metal Gear game, it's another project (game) that Kojima's team is working on.

Check the meta tags for that Mask page, mentions NOTHING about Next MG, MGS, blah blah...

And do you read or just bypass every single comment and make your own, it's NOT Raiden

by f31j - 2009-05-31 12:38
» just a guess

maybe it is:

e3 Corpse 56

it's the only explanation for the small "e". Everything else is capitalized and it cant possibly stand for another letter or number. e3 logo always contains a lower case "e".

by Daistaar - 2009-05-31 18:47
» COULD IT BE SNAKE?!

I know this is probably more outlandish a theory than all others but hear this one out: Solid Snake is old and has passed. Otacon uses the same methods and tech of "White Blood" that kept Raiden alive to bring back Snake. If you guys remember, Snake's hair is originally a white / blond color in MGS1. His hair was cut and dyed before sending him to Shadow Moses to distinguish him from Liquid (In the cutscene before the game starts he's sitting in his underwear with long white hair as Campbell's giving him a sitrep.)

This would explain why he still has his bandana, hair color, and eye color. The barcode may have always been there as he was always a clone and we'd never seen him remove the headband. Would also make the corpse thing relevant, no?

@Talha03: Solidus was BEFORE Solid and Liquid. He was actually the ONLY perfect copy of Big Boss. I think they said the only problem was that they (Patriots?) couldn't mass produce him fast enough so the Terrible Children project was started to speed it up and Mass produce BB's clones. Eventually those genomes were used in Shadow Moses for all of the soldiers there making them all clones of BB (in a sense) which is why Liquid says you've been killing your brothers in the end of MGS1. Lastly, I recall Liquid being the SUPERIOR of the two Snakes (revealed in the ending with Otacon talking to Solidus after the credits of MGS1, who he addresses as "Mr. President").

@Genosyde: First... Awesome name!... As for who Snake burned in Outer Heaven... MGS:PO2? LOL I'd say the Big Boss story could have been expanded in a nice Portable Ops 2 where BB has been cloned (Solidus) and he is about to create Outer Heaven. Could even be that MG remake you touched on which would be nice using the PO engine on the PSP Go!

Lotta good ideas and theories out here (except mine which are just ridiculously humorous). Hope to see what's comes of this. Lastly, to the guys who say "Kojima wouldn't waste resources on a remake" consider TWIN SNAKES for the Gamecube. While it was Silicon Knights, he did contribute a LOT of time to the remake. I wouldn't doubt that we're looking at a MG or MG2 remake. Considering the story is over twenty years old, most people won't even know or recall the details. He could easily pull a George Lucas and say this is how he envisioned it from the beginning but didn't have the tech.

by genosyde - 2009-06-01 03:05
» A+

I like how you think, and thank you for backing me up on the Solidus theory, I think it could get stretched even further (plot twist for the new game) to find out that Solidus may even be Big Bosses Identical Brother. Hence the identical genes etc..
