The PS3 is the heaviest console in gaming history

When it comes to gaming, nothing tops the PS3 in weight. By weight, I don't mean the metaphorical equivalent or power, performance, or whatever. I mean actual weight, y'know, like how much it'll hurt if it fell on your toe.

Qualifies as a light workout

Famitsu, perhaps running out of stuff to post like me, got the gaming hardware together and put them on the scales. The phat PS3 gets top honors for not giving gravity a hard time with its 11-pound butt. That's five kilos - heavier than a newborn, or your stash of porn. After taking lots of flak in 2001 for its tankish size, the original Xbox checks in at second with its 8.6-pound physique.

Between the current models, the Xbox 360 is at 7.9 pounds, while the PS3's diet seemed to do wonders, leaving only 7.05 pounds for the slim model.

If you're curious, the lightest ever is the Game Boy Micro, barely tipping the scales with 80 grams.

the ironic thing is your probably saying that because you prefer the 360 but we all know what happens to 99% of those after a couple months play.

In anycase, door stop would have been a more realistic thing to say but then who expects someone stupid enough to use and prefer faulty electronics to actually think?

99%, that's just stupid. And with the new motherboards the chance of "that" happening is really slim (about 5% I belive)

I agree the PS3 is the heaviest console out there but it had a lot of stuff that was taken out of the new PS3..Was expensive as well $599.99! But the sad part it over heats quite a bit

Not sure where the "7.9" pounds came from, but amazon says 11. Power brick also has to be included .

A lot of that comes from having the power brick built in, whereas the 360 you have to drag that around too.

your saying the xbox360 looks better than the PS3.
i dont think so.
the ps3 looks the best out of all 3.
although my xbox360 hasnt had the casing on it since i modded it and stuck new heatsinks and fans on the CPU and GPU.
was thinking of chopping holes in the case so the fans would fit but meh, i dont mind it open.
but back to what i was saying, your crazy if you think the 360 is a better looking than the ps3.
