The PS3 is big in Japan (literally!)

The monster kioskWhen we first saw this picture we were speechless... And right now, we are still speechless. How in the world can you look at that HUUUGE *bleep!* and not stand around, gawking like a George A. Romero zombie?

This Godzilla of a kiosk is found at the newly opened Bic Camera in Kawasaki. There's four high-def Sony Bravia TVs, one on each side of the monolith. This one doesn't actually have any playable demos, but only shows a bunch of videos of up-coming games like Genji: Days of the Blade, Eye of Judgement, and Warhawk.

There's a smaller kiosk, however, down over at the Yodobashi Camera outlet in Akihabara. They're both running the same trailers. And facade-wise, both kiosks look almost the same. The only difference (really BIG difference) is, of course, the size.

While the unit isn't playable, the simple fact that a unit is already out there on a demo kiosk is such big news. As for kiosks in the US... Well... All we can do is wait... Everyone's got big hopes though.

» COOL!!!

That one of the biggest video game kiosks that I've seen. Just imagine how much thoes kiosks are(4 1080p Sony Bravia HDTV's + 4 20GB PS3's = $$$$). It would have been cooler if thoes were playable. I hope they can bring one of thoes over here in the states. Man thoes lucky Japanese, share the PS3 love.

» Demos otw

For one all they want to do is place kiosk where they want them, after they will be sending out controllers and demos to these kiosks.

They "overshadow" the Xbox360 kiosk with no contest.

They will truly show the power of having 1080p games. Xbox360 will probably never have any 1080p native games because thats just alot of work for a system that wont properly display it

"so i wonder how big the orignal xbox and 360s must have been ;-)"

uh are you trying to say that the 360 is a huge console?..

have you ever seen one, given yes he power supply is external it makes it small.. but it is small and stylish, i'd much rather have an external power supply

ps3 is massive
