I have never EVER been interested in the user score for any game on any site because it is always distorted by fanboys, from those giving it 10/10 to boost the score to those giving it 0/10 to reduce the average score. It a meaningless result, always has been always will be.

I don't know.. Having great graphics is nice.. but I still go back to my NES and SNES to play those games. You recommend i purchase an over priced and watered down console. Lets see here, the 360 is available in 3 versions, basic, pro and elite. Now lets compare that to how many different versions of the PS3 there are all over the world. Seven. Seven versions of the same thing right? No. Every time they seem to take away less features. Despite this I still witnessed slowdown on GTA:IV when I played it. And the PS3 I played on was less then a week old.

And its impressive 512mb of ram is something i had on computers more then 5 years ago.

It still does not change the fact that every generation of the PS3 has less features. Should they not be adding more?

I still have no reason to even consider buying one. All the decent titles bar MGS4 are multi platform, and I refuse to pay £340 for one game. It is not worth my time or money.

As for the dude who said the MGS series sucks compared to GoW series.... no. Those are 2 different style/types of games. Both series are favorites of mine, so they are both great. And yes, LBP is a waste, that game was designed for little kids... so yeah, it's just perfect for the PS3 Empire.

First of all I'm not a fanboy of either console and I own both so with that out of the way I actually find this very amusing.



I asume the people that actually first of all cared enough to downrate a game that has already had enough preorders to outsell littlebigplanet do not own an xbox360 since if they did and are over 18 chances are they would buy the game themselves.



I am going to get both littlebigplanet and gears of war 2 as I like the creativity of littlebigplanet and I enjoyed Gears of War alot.



The whole argument about which console is best stems from people either not being able to get both or feeling some kind of loyalty to a company that only has a single goal.... to make money whilst taking control of a part of a marketplace.



Both Sony and Microsoft honestly couldnt care less about it's consumers so long as they are spending money on thier products so do not get this dumb idea that sony love you or microsoft respect you. You can argue Microsoft care because they have given more downloadable content or "better games" but they only have one reason to try and draw you into buying thier products and that is because you have money and they want it. Neither company are a acharity and therefore thier focus is taking your money and giving you whatever will get that cash out of your pocket and into thier company.



With that said Gears of War 2 will sell insanely well because it has so much going for it and even if they only build on gears of war it will still be an incredible game. So what was acheived by giving it a poor rating.... simple, you wasted your time whilst those "xbox fanboys" you hate so much were sat playing xbox live and having a great time. Also those same "xbox fanboys" wasted thier time downrating littlebigplanet as it will also sell well and the time spent downrating it was also wasted time that playstation fans probably spent playing MGS4.



My point is both consoles have some exlusives and both give a good service. In all honesty I probably play my xbox a little more since at this moment in time the only exclusives that the playstation has that I still play is MGS4. Sony in all honesty have missed what made the PS2 such a HUGE sucsess which was it had a stupid amount of games to choose from and alot of very good exclusives. Microsoft however risked a loss of confidence by rushing out a system plagued with red light issues but in doing so got ALOT of games out and earned some awesome exclusives. For this reason alone I think the xbox is "winning" the "console war" since they have more games to offer and at the end of the day I buy a gaming machine to play games, not dvds or bluerays, games!



Before xmas xbox360 will get gears of war 2 and has just got fable 2 and has alot in line to be released next year.



Before xmas PS3 will get littlebigplanet and hasnt had anything with wow factor recently. It also has alot of exclusives coming next year but for myself not alot to choose from. God of War and maybe getaway 3 will be the only exclusives I'm interested in since Gran Turismo is visually awesome but I think lacking in gameplay and I've never been a big fan of final fantasy.



Sony are a great console maker but this time around they have focused too much on making "the better technical machine" and missed out on the point that games and a good price sells consoles, not a fancy blueray player and the promice that thier console can make things look better (especially when its such a small difference that you dont notice it unless you actually spend time looking for it).

Anyone who calls another console by a childish name, whether it's directed at the 360, PS3 or Wii, is simply acting like a child. Rican199 deserves to be called a child for that post of his, and so I have to question why you appear to support him here.



Hence I see no reason to waste my time addressing the points raised by such a childish individual, but as you seem desperate for an answer, I'll address the points he made.



The Cell processor. It is a processor which is superb for what it was designed for, which is for arithmetic calculations, in particular, floating-point operations. It has (on paper), about twice the arithmetic power of the 360's CPU, which is great for areas such as physics. However, the 360's CPU has about twice the power for general processing (i.e. non-arithmetic operations) compared to the Cell processor. Hence overall, they tend to balance out, where the Cell processor will be better for some games, the 360's CPU (Xenon) will be better for others, and both about the same for the remainder.



Regarding the 360 being maxed out. This is pure nonsense coming from someone who clearly has NO idea about technology. NEITHER the 360 or the PS3 is maxed out, not even close, and NO console is ever maxed out before the end of their typical life span because developers are always learning about the hardware, and therefore ALWAYS find ways to squeeze more out of the same console.



Regarding Blu-ray and DVD. Blu-ray's strengh is it's hugh capacity per disc, however compared to the DVD drive in the 360, it's much slower, hence so many PS3 games require a HDD install to improve load times. So again, there are pros and cons to each.



And there are arguements to put forward regarding the pros and cons of the 360 and PS3's GPUs, RAM, HDD as standard or optional, the controllers, online support, resolution and so on.



So kimdrummel, I am more than happy to discuss the pros and cons of BOTH consoles (with mature gamers) without resorting to childish insults against the hardware and companies and without feeling the need to take sides. Can you do the same?

How do you even know if it were 360 fanboys in the first place? People are just assuming thats its them. It could be hardcore gamers or gamers who hate kiddy games. Most people don't think like that, cuz they have a one track mind, and thats to blame the opposing fanboys for whatever. LBP is just an update of the 16bit Sonic The Hedgehog games. You go from left to right and avoid danger and do some obstacles, thats all there is to it.

the whole point of the xbox over taking sony on there home ground is because of a lil thing known as a "keeping the customers happy", currently the xbox is selling 3:1 ratio in europe and this goes higher in china, japan etc where it goes 5:1 and the use its 3:1, add em up the xbox is selling 11:3 thats a big ass sale because the xbox compnants are getting cheaper to make meaning microsoft are passing on the savings.

i work for a company that asked sony if we could make blu-ray drives for the pc and well, sony wanted a £20 million insurance policyalong with a legal disclosure that prevents us from making our own style of blu-ray drive, sony is making companys sign contrects where they get nearly 50% of the money created from the blu-ray sales, sony has got so many patents on the blu rays is impossible to make it for ourself.

when sony announced the "home" thingy MS programed its own version, tested it and is now releasing it in 4 weeks, where as sony is still working on theres.



NOW onto membership, sure the PSN network is free but not for long, the bbc technoligy program the sony exec said the PSN will come a PAY TO PLAY system and from the prices that was quoted (- A MONTH) its a rip off.

I had a go at KingPoubar for good reason (as explained above), however that doesn't mean everything he says is wrong.



As I said above, Cell is superb for what it was designed for, and in terms of on paper floating-point performance, is ahead of PC CPUs. However it's general processing performance is not as good in comparison, which is why Apple rejected Cell for it's own computers and left IBM for Intel instead.



The power of any machine is the sum of it's parts (CPU, GPU, RAM, HDD, Audio etc), and in this respect, the PC is far more powerful than the 360 and PS3, and has been for quite some time. But of course, there's a price to be paid for such power, and hence consoles offer a far greater power to cost ratio compared to PCs, i.e. more power per dollar.



And no, the 360 is not dead or dying (I've heard that for YEARS about PC gaming and it's still going strong). The 360 is doing very well in the market, especially when you consider that before both consoles were launched, almost everyone expected the PS3 to surpass 360 sales within a few years, and yet here we are almost 3 years later and the PS3 is still 5-6 million behind.



Both the 360 and PS3 are superb games consoles, the PC is also a superb platform for gaming, so I'm going to disagree with anyone attacking the other unfairly. :)

if i'm a bout to invest in a game system, i'd rather go to the one where i can play anytime and for hours. i played my SIXTH 360 for 4 hours and my cousin played it for another 4 hours after me and it broke. what a bummer.

I'm just stuck at work and this is one of the few sites WEBSENSE (ie the Devil) allows me access to... so I have to comment... it's my sworn duty when slacking off at my job.

It never ceases to amaze me no matter where you go I swear people flame and fanboy and everything just for their own amusement. I personally own a PS3 my best friend owns an Xbox360. We enjoy the best of both worlds. IT makes me laugh when I see one person compare one system tot he other or start throwing around we have this and you don't. Does Xbox have exlusive stuff hell yes coming out the ying yang for sure. Does PS3 maybe not as much but yes exclusives they definitly have. I like my ps3 for blueray and the free psn. If they start charging for it then I may rethink my options. I also have a wii by the way which I love get a good workout with wii sports.



Gotta keep healthy for gaming ya know. I look forward to my buddy picking up GoW2 so I can play it. Am I mad because its exlusive.....no disappointed yes mad no cause I will still enjoy it. Can we coexist some agrue no that one system is gonna kill the other like GoW2 has signed and delivered PS3 dead now. Everyone was up in arms when they announced FF13 would get ported to xbox. I like my ps3 regardless. I look forward to ff13 and ff13 versus which is exclusive to ps3. I love the xmb of the xbox even though my ps3 offers one. I like how I can connect to msn messenger and music and such. I love how my ps3 can connect to my network and my ps3 using windows media player as a media server. As far as bluetooth goes I love my bluetooth headset. I can connect to both my ps3 and my cell phone...waste of money not it its what I like to have. you don't have to use bluetooth so if you think its expensive go get a usb headset not to hard. I have the 60gig model for the ps3 now discontinued. But I tell yeah it runs solid over the year and some I have owned it it has frozen 4 times. to me thats perfect as my pc freezes every other day.

My buddies xbox at least once a month. Tv shows and movies are nice on the systems I suppose but I guess thats why I got a pc and cable and dvds and blueray movies not so I can stream them through my console. I am not particular to little big planet not my cup of tea but hey if your looking forward to it go get it and enjoy. one system is not better because geez we have more sales boohoo you suck we have more games and exclusive content. I play everything I say play to what makes you happy not because of popularity. xbox to expensive watch the pawn shops. besides how long before the next gen machines and it starts all over again people obviously never learn from history. Microsoft is a LARGE company and they have the bucks to throw around to ensure their survival. Sony maybe not as much but they are a development center hence blueray which won the recent media war because of size and so on. Sure when ff13 hits its multiple dvds for xbox if you don't mind hot swapping thne who cares. Personally I like to load one disk and sit back. But again don't listen to everyone else or fanboys go with what you like what makes you happy and in the end what leaves you pleased with yourself just because one knocks the other does not mea you can't enjoy it.

No they never... its just ps3 sales were are actual sales and not the company counting all the broken consoles to make it look like their consoles ahead.



I mean personly I know more people with ps3's than 360's and the people who have 360's have gone through multiple consoles.
