The PS Move Subcontroller is NOT the Nunchuk |
Listed in: PS3 Tags: playstation 3 updates, playstation move, Sony
Here's something you gotta know about the PlayStation Move's sidekick, the "Nunchuk", otherwise officiall known as the Move Subcontroller. Truth is, while it may generally function "like" the Wii's Nunchuk, it's not exactly like it.
First of all, this Subcontroller functions wirelessly from Move. Then, it does not require batteries. Instead, all you have to do is charge it via the PS3 using the same USB cable as the ones you use for charging your PS3 controllers.

I am unique. I am unique. I am unique. I am -- gaaaaaaaaarr!!!
Oh, and it does not have a gyro sensor. Simply put, it cannot detect motion. Not at this time, Sony says. Maybe by the time it comes out this Fall, they'd have changed their minds.
So yeah. The next time you hear someone compare the Move and its SubController to the Wiimote and its Nunchuk, you've got a couple of good factoids to throw their way to prove they're not the same banana.

For example the video with the girl using the bow and arrow.
Does this mean certain games that require both hands would require two wands as opposed to wand+chuck?
That's kinda fail if its true.
Might as well not buy the chuck and just get a second wand.

agreed. cash grab?
Reply
no they dont come together.
for $190 i bet you your getting both wands.

By the way, anyone else waiting for Microsoft to announce the actual name for Project Natal? Sony just announced Move because it sounded better than "motion sensing controller" but Project Natal has kinda stuck...

Your sick of flailing your arms about yet you want Natal so you can now flail all 4 of your limbs about?

That's just plain flat out lazy,cheap & I
I'll bet my money on it they we'll see a copyright/patent war sometime later on in the courtroom.
Oh & also I normally dont like microsoft but I have to give them credit for not copying ninty as much as sony. At least theirs is WIRELESSS & HAS NO CONTROLLERS. Btw I don't own a 360 & never plan on owning 1 again. It's a personal opinion cause my 360 red ringed on me a lot so im done there & plus I really dont like the games, graphics or microsoft's goofy looking/feeling/odd controller or the controls. Idk alright sony's controller is just more comfortable & overal easier for me to use & i like the game selection better.
I've already had a 360,Wii,ps3,ds & a psp. Currently I own a ps3& a ds lite. So my opinions arent biased. They're made from my own personal experience. So in other words don't flame me or bash me for my opinions!

this has been in development for a lot longer than you think. I'm sorry but this was even before the wii and used the original Eyetoy on the PS2.
Camera based motion control on consoles is not new either. There was Eyetoy, then microsoft's Vision Camera, then the PSeye and now Natal, all with slightly better tech than their predecessors. Is that not the same as the wii and the Move?

so hang on, Sony needs to stop copying other peoples idea's and making it better? then everything in the world would be shit if people didn't improve and only made new shit things, and how is natal not a copied improved eye toy?

10 points to you madman
its like saying there should only be one brand of car because all the rest are just copies of the first model.
come to thing of it, we should only have one brand of video game consoles, the magnavox since atari, nintendo, sega, sony and all the rest just copied an idea that was started by the magnavox odyssey 38 years ago.
