Here are some new screenshots for Valve's coveted compilation of games known as The Orange Box. It contains the titles Half-Life 2: Episode Two (Xbox 360, PS3, PC), Portal (Xbox 360, PS3, PC), and Team Fortress 2 (Xbox 360, PS3, PC). It was earlier reported that the PlayStation 3 version will be a bit delayed while the other two will be meeting their October release date schedule.

Valve Corporation has a lot of surprises for each title. Episode 2, for example, focuses on expansive environments and non-linear gameplay. In this installment, players get to follow Gordon Freeman and the other characters leave City 17 and move to the surrounding wilderness.

Portal, on the other hand, introduces puzzle element in the FPS genre as it allows players to create portals on flat planes for instant travels. Linking two portals on different planes will result to a rather bizarre twist in geometry and gravity. Team Fortress 2, finally, will focus on multiplayer and strategy.

Aside from the above mentioned, The Orange Box compilation will also contain past titles Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode One.

Team fortress is a brilliant game. If all the other games are as good and i think they will this will truly be a bargin.

I agree

TF2 is a lot of fun. Best multiplayer game I have played. I know HL2 and EP1 are good was well. That just leaves Portal, and EP2.

Ah..

Team Fortress 2 is freaking awesome, I've been playing it nearly non-stop for the past two weeks.. I honestly can't wait to see if people actually keep playing this game. God forbid it turns into HL2:DM. Hopefully they add in some harder achievements, the ones there now are too easy. I want some achievements that really make you mix up your playing style, map choices and just puts you knee-deep in the game. Anyways, that "choose a game" screen is definitely not PC. The games are just seperate on Steam, I already have them in my list.

I'll definitely buy it, but there's a HUGE "but"

Last years I was a HUGE valve fan. HL2: YES! OH yes HL2EP1: OMG, so much fun! But why the wait? HL2EP2: Umm, where is it? WAY back when EP1 was being released, the said end 2006! I've already forgotten the storyline. I don't have proof, I know I read in an official source they were going to do the episodes fast and fun based on current tech WHILE they worked on the rest. What total bollocks. I heard a rumor EP1-3 would be ablailable early this year, not even close. They've spent so long *****ting with the engine and other projects instead of the story, they have 100% lost my excitement. I think it's a kick arse marketing scheme, but one they got greedy and screwed up. EP2 was promised last year, but they chose to make it a big bundle and with newly developed tech, include as yet incomplete software, jack up the price, and pi ss off a fan by not giving me the story WAY back when I cared. I love the games, and will keep buying them (I'm desperate to know how it ends), and I even like the episodic nature, but dammit, get your priorities straight, work on seperate project SEPERATELY and give fans what you promise. The ridiculously episode delay would allow for a decent episode too, not the 4hour convoluted gun slinging of EP2. The likely hood of me finding the origninal announcments is slim, but I'll try. (I'm cr ap at it and lazy). Conclusion: Episodes ROCK, especially HalfLife ones. but steam *****ed it up.

With the amount of content you can't go wrong.

I felt the same way about RainbowSix Vegas for the ps3. And there wasn't a fraction of the extras OrangeBox offers in one package. It's a sure sale for me. I have only played Episode 1 on the PC. The other titles, and EP1 as well, all deserve a good playthrough on my system.

The only flaw I see

is that a pc gamer gets screwed cause they don't get Orange Box. So, they'll just download them individually via bittorrents (scarcasm)
