The Japanese trailer for PlayStation Home

If there's one thing we can say about Sony's PlayStation Home trailer, it's that the voice-over is surprisingly soothing to listen to. Sure, we can't understand a darned thing she's saying, but listening to her is like wading in a sea of tranquility.

That being said, expect her to be espousing the values of PlayStation Home in Japanese, whether it be the ability to dress up your avatars to look like Ratchet, or the unparalleled ability to interact in a virtual world with other like-minded folk, or the simple joys of playing bowling while listening to your favorite music in a world you can call your own. That's what she's talking about when she refers to the PlayStation Home system.

In any case, you can read less of us and listen to more of her right now. Enjoy the trailer!

They should make it where if you don't play actual PS3 games, you'll be out of shape/get fat/etc. It seems like the Sims Online with a mix of GTA to me...but hey, if that's what it essentially is, that's cool. The minigames seem pretty neat also...perhaps they might incorporate some PSN games in Home's arcade area...like Super Stardust HD. Neat!

I have been working with Home Beta for some time now and I must tell you, it will revolutionize communication, online gaming and even buying things online. Try to look further into the future... Imagine virtual stores and shops, communicating with other people in a whole new way! Somewhat of a MMORPG that links to real life. You will have a home where you can entertain friends, go to the park, see a movie, play pool maybe bowl a game or two...

It will be unlike any other experience you have ever had.

I have almost lost hope on the English language online. I thought everyone who posted was mentally retarded and could not spell 'the' any other way then 'teh'. Thank you for bringing some of my hope for humanity and the English language back!

# Rooms are limitedGuest 2007-08-08 08:59
Some Sony rep once explained that rooms will be limited to maybe 64 people or so. An intelligent match-making system will make sure that you will mos likely meet your friends in any given public location. Something like that.

and Yup....it's a lame idea...

I wouldn't even download it if it's free...

I have better things to do then create a fake apartment and talk to idiotic strangers....

The only way i'd load it up is if they had some sweet arcade games....which by the look of it, they don't...
