It's here, and from the looks of it, Guerrilla Games is delivering on all their promises - and then some, on what could be THE killer app for the PlayStation 3. Here it is, the first ever confirmed Killzone PS3 screenshot, freshly-picked from the bounty soon to be revealed in that legendary conventions of conventions, E3.
While it's certainly not much - one screenshot - it certainly looks pretty, doesn't it? The shadows are crisp and convincing, the textures and the models look reassuringly real and lifelike - not to mention that the signature Killzone feel is captured in the dark, claustrophobic and lonely-looking quarters. Definitely post-apocalyptic, and definitely delicious.
Don't fret, though. This could only be the tip of the iceberg - E3's not quite here just yet, and once it actually gets into full swing, we may be in for a next-gen information overload we've never experienced before. So keep it locked right here for any and all updates - we'll be here to keep you informed as soon as they come in.

So it is ingame footage... but not truc footage ;)

it's real. If you go to the thread in KillZone Mess Hall in the PlayStation Underground forums that says Confirmed: First KillZone in-game screenshot, a KillZone dev confirms it's real. It's not a poster or anything, it's TRUE in-game footage
Where do people get the idea that its only a poster and not actual in game? It looks real good to me. Especially the gun and the lighting. I'm even more pumped up about E3 now, can't wait to see video or gameplay of the this game.

From what I can see the graphic will be worst then Gears of War. Even Halo 3 graphic will be worst then Gears of War.
But we have to see the scope of Killzone 2 . All good looking X360 games have small areas and few characters at the same time. But maybe with the Cell...
How about releasing a GAMEPLAY VIDEO? Isn't this game far along in development to show some f*cking gameplay yet?

The screenshot looks pretty good. Yes the shadow is pixelated (sure they will fix that by release), and one part of the wall is lower res (possibly because of how close they are to the wall) but other than that it looks real good.
The gun looks the best. With crisp res on it and lots of details. Extremely good.
The second best thing is the lighting on the Helghast. Every part of the Helghast casts a shadow on itself. Just look at the way the shadows are on his legs. The eyes themselves do a really good job of adding light to the rest of the helmet with a slight orange tint to it.
Unfortunately, it's not as good as the E3 video, but it is still pretty damn good.
this is looking good but i hope it doesnt get all the "killer app" hype the last 1 had cause i think all the hype was the last games downfall

that's something for you all to think about....i can't help but think what the beta will look like
xbox falcon is just the system MS should have released but didnt want to spend the money in testing their consoles and providing a decent working QUIET cooling system. Thanks MS fanboys for looking forward to things that make your version of the console obsolete. Do you really not see how stupid that sounds? Congradulating a company on creating a revised piece of hardware which makes you desire to repurchase your console. That may be the way it works but most consumers dont appreciate this at all... unless you have money coming out of your a** which i highly doubt because your lack of the ability to speak english, (its a pixel not pixal).
Geezus...how you fanboys gush over that image...it's sad. So yes, it's an in-game screenshot. And yes, it's likely a screenshot from the point of view of the player looking at a poster in-game. A poster of a crappy looking model with crappy shadows and crappy textures. Yet most of you still claim how good that poster looks. Ugh. Take a step back from your fanboyism and realize it for what it is. FUD.
GG are likely setting us up to see that crappy image (ie, poster), only to show something better later on by pulling back and showing the real character models, textures, and shadows. It will look great....however...
Having said that though, GG will likely never reach the quality seen in the original KZ2 CGI demo reel. Take a look at that screenshot again, and take a look at any screenshot from the original CGI demo reel. If you still think they look the same in rendering quality, go get your eyes checked.
If they can match the quality of graphics as seen in Gears of War, I'd be happy. I'd be pleasantly surprised if they can surpass that, but I doubt that they'll ever reach the CGI demo quality.
If this truly is how KZ2 looks though (and it isn't just a poster), ugh...how utterly crappily disappointing.
And no, I'm not a 360fanboy. I own a PS3 and half a dozen games. I just happen to have higher expectations for the PS3, and the current crop of titles certainly doesn't cut it. Here's to hoping that E3 (and TGS) will surprise us PS3 fans. and I mean fans, not fanboys, as they're already eating this FUD up.

Most of you are blind if you cant see that it is definitely a poster in the game. For the real detail look at the gun and the brick wall around the poster....
The gun looks really good with what looks to be a depth of field effect, although I cant really tell cause the photo is too small. The bricks look really good too, even looks like they used parallax mapping for them? If they have schweet!!!
But seriously it is a effin poster in the game!!!!!!!

i just reread the article and seems this one is uncropped and it shows that it is only a poster (probably of a screen from the game). But if its uncropped, why is the gun in the wrong place? The cropped pic has it so you can see the entire (or atleast half) of his legs. This one you clearly cannot. Something fishy is going on.
i didn't notice that it was a poster on a brick wall (even though something looked odd to me). but if you look at the bricks surrounding the poster, their texture looks a lot nicer than the poster, so the game may look significantly better
