Just a couple of hours ago, we shared with you a couple of videos about the different courses you will encounter in racing game MotorStorm. We have also already settled before that developer Evolution Studios did a pretty good job of making giant trucks fly around racing tracks.

While we know that you'll take our word for it, we still wanted the game to speak for itself. So we're sharing with you now a video clip dubbed as "Big Air." As always, things aren't called as such for nothing. In this video, you will see trucks careening and flying as if they are as light as an ordinary racing car. While the video is around three and a half minutes long, we're sure you will enjoy every bit part of it.

Anyway, MotorStorm is already released in Japan but they aren't getting any online fun. On the other hand, we here at the Americas would have to wait until March of 2007 to get our hands on MotorStorm. But given all its exciting features, we know it will be worth the wait.

» hum...

it's alright i guess, sometimes it' looks amazing and then at other times it doesn't.

by Lurker - 2006-12-19 03:48
» Exactly what i thought

In some scenes, i was like, i guess its close to the trailer. And then when i saw those ramps, i was like wtf, this looks horable. Strange

» Well

It looks like one of those games you rent you play it for a day or so and say "Well it was fun" return it and never play it again. There are a couple of games on 360 that were like that.

P.S why does it look like everything is floating when it hits a jump or lands, all the cars like bounce?

by PS3Rider - 2006-12-19 04:54
» WTF u noobs!

That is the most ausome driving game I have ever seen! IT was ausome as the beggining where there was lots of fire and people falling off the bikes! That game has ausome graphics for a launch game!

by PS3Rider - 2006-12-19 05:12
» Uh Dur!

I forget that it isn't a launch title!

by JimmySunderland - 2006-12-19 05:25
» IIRC, MotorStorm was a Japanese launch (window) title...

The Japanese game has no online component though (it's the #1 PS3 game nonetheless).

In any case, it's a first generation title. Evolution Studios is a very talented developer; MotorStorm 2 will no doubt be even closer to (if not surpass) the target render. They're using Havok for physics (multiplatform middleware); imagine if they had a physics engine built specifically for the Cell processor...

by senjutsu - 2006-12-19 06:22
» I tryed it at ebstbuy, it rocks

but I'd like if we could see, or if the game could have differant tracks, I mean, with vegetation and other stuff instead of always riding in the sand or mud on top of a montain...

it would be sooo coool to play this game in a city where everything is destructible! lol

by ASTROPUNK - 2006-12-19 06:24
» I PLAYED ON THE PS3 KIOSK!!! AWESOME!!!

You cant judge this game by some video you see over the internet. You have to play this game to beleive it. I was blown away by the graphics. One of the best off road racing games I ever played. Try it

by Nerd - 2006-12-19 06:36
» .

yes - it would be nice to have different scenery..but that isnt the point of the game - its about desert rallies and the 'MotorStorm' festival.

look out for future games; rally and street as im sure many features of this game are aboutto set a new standard in racers

by Billy - 2006-12-19 09:45
» meh

The game doesnt even look that good and still cant compare with gears of war graphics after 2years of development. $ony u failed big time after all the hype with PS3 nothing interesting

by mahesa - 2006-12-19 10:11
» cuz...

cuz they have shock brakers

by Vietone - 2006-12-19 10:32
» LoL

GoW is far from being better.

For one, the scale of the game is small. You have small amounts of enemies on he screen and the size of the maps are small.

Motorstorm has huge maps. Dynamic deforming terrain and lots of active objects on screen.

So far nothing on the Xbox360 compares to Motorstorm.

by PS3Rider - 2006-12-19 10:36
» You Noob!

Clearly you dont knwo what your talking about of course you cant compair it to gears of war! Developers have had over a year now to tinker with the Xbox 360 and work out how to use nearly its max potential, whereas the Playstation 3 has been on the market for nearly a month now and these graphics are ausome for a console which devlopers are still getting used to

» Still not impressed...

I bought the ps3 at launch date and I was looking forward to get this game... I played the demo...graphics where decent but in terms of gameplay can't say I enjoyed it. After couple of laps I had enough and found it kinda boring to be honest. And I understand is a dirt/mud racing style game but it does looks like it could get repetitive over time ....

by Wow.. - 2006-12-19 10:56
» Just Wow...

What is up with some of you people thinking this compares to Gears of War? Gears of War is clearly technically better and far more detailed than this game.

Just because this game shows scenery and cars driving around (20 of them actually to make the fangirls happy) doesn't make it better. Gears of War has FAR more detail to it on one enemy than this does on the scenery. Also, just because Gears of War has smaller maps doesn't make it less impressive, considering the amount of details is displayed on each and every single bit of the maps.

Please don't compare a little racing game to a masterpiece of a game. Don't try to say "OMG he is such a 360 fanboy he doesn't know what he is talking about" you girls are far more annoying than 360 fanboys than anyone else cause all you say is "Just wait, just wait till next year" Stfu with that, just cause one game gets Hype all you girls flip out thinking its the greatest when we all know its a just a "another" game.

Gears of War sold 2 million copies for a reason. Don't try to fight the reviewers and others who proven that Gears of War is far more superior than any PS3 game. BUT I forgot "We'll wait and see next year" Get over it please....Just because you hate Gears of War doesn't mean the graphics are worse than any PS3 game, cause we all know that Gears of War is far more superior than any game on PS3, and will be for a long time. Epic did a fine job on an amazing game.

by Vietone - 2006-12-19 12:05
» Crazy...

I was in such a fangirl state of mind that I didn't realize how ridiculous I sounded on the above post. Sorry guys, I'm a silly girl with my pigtails pulled to tight!

by 2k1yellows2k - 2006-12-19 12:24
» Still...

Can not wait to buy this game on release date...

by NonPartisanCon - 2006-12-19 16:27
» Pretty...

The game looks gorgeous. Now if it could only add upon the gameplay experience what it has in graphics and physics, I would be sold.

by RommelTJ - 2006-12-19 16:44
» Obviously

Obviously you haven't played it. The demo for this game was incredibly fun. It was the most entertaining demo I have ever played in my life.

by LOL - 2006-12-19 19:56
» Gorilla men

Motorstorm kicks ass, though I can't figure out why the 360 fanatics are trying to compare this to Gears of War. That game couldn't even handle more than 8 characters at once.

by lansingone - 2006-12-19 22:01
» i love it

i just keep playing it over and over again. try it with the motion controls in first person veiw with the first selection car, that makes for some top notch fun right thare. but after hearing that the motorstorm devs are against making sequels i hope thare will be a motorstom 2 that will use a physics engine made for the cell, thats a real problem is even the PS3 only games are still using multi platform game engines

by Devise - 2006-12-20 00:18
» Save your money and stick with the demo.

On IGN they review the Japanese version and unfortunately they say there is hardly any extra content that wasn't in the demo. In other words keep you $50 and stick with the demo! Hopefully the US version won't be the same.

» umm

They are different games, but GOW is just another FPS over hyped for the 360.

by Kel - 2006-12-20 04:22
» Well

Looks like Omega15 isn't smart enough to comment so please don't do it again.

1. GoW is a Third Person Shooter not an FPS

2. GoW was hyped a lot and no matter what all you Sony Fans think it lived up to the hype and a lot of reviewers also mentioned that. I think I trust them more since they get paid to do it and you don't. Reviewers>Sony Fans

by Kel - 2006-12-20 06:38
» Eh

Not Sony Fans, I meant fanboys.

by Spector - 2006-12-20 07:32
» well

Seeing as the US version will have online content it should be a much better experience.

Also I'm amazed that you, an xbot, spends their time reading PS3 news feeds and such.

by Spector - 2006-12-20 10:53
» and let me guess

Despite the good reviews Resistance got and all that you still say it sucks horribly and in no way lived up to the hype?

Also there is such thing as a biased reviewer. Sometimes depends on who's paying their salary.
