But where are the cute taffy characters we saw at last year's GameCity 2007 event? At that time, Namco Bandai revealed their demonstration to the stretcy Nobi Nobi Boy. This year, at the Tokyo Game Show, they came armed with this:

Frankly, I find this "gameplay" trailer very disappointing. It just doesn't scream "next-gen" to me. It sure is a far cry from this demonstration video they showed last year. Here, compare and see the vast difference:

I guess my expectation for it is pretty high given the resumé of its creator, Keita Takahasi (of Katamari Damacy fame). However, some people would note that the TGS 08 video is not a full-pledged "gameplay" trailer, but rather is but the title screen loading animation. We certainly hope that's the case here. Still, though, we'd have to ask the question: why didn't they just show actual gameplay, then?

Anyway, the TGS is still far from over, so hopefully they'll bring out more trailers for Nobi Nobi Boy hopefully showing actual gameplay. Or even after.
