White Knight Story's combat system seems to borrow a lot of elements from other successful titles. Final Fantasy XII comes to mind when talking about exploring vast fields, seamless transition to combat, and an action gauge that executes a character's command when it goes full. Camera work is in the hands of the player, but it doesn't look like it'll be a chore to move around.
As if we haven't stressed it out before, the game looks cream of the crop. You'll have to see it yourself by watching the video below.
