Ó
Those who couldn't wait to get hold of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue should take heed of this Tokyo Game Show 2007 announcement: there will be five tracks available in Prologue. Thinking that it's too few to keep yourself entertained until Gran Turismo 5's release? Keep in mind that there are other features jampacked in the game that will definitely enhance gamer experience. As mentioned in a previous article, Prologue will feature a 16-player online multiplayer feature, which is a first for the Gran Turismo franchise. 30 cars will be made available, including Ferrari, Lotus, Nissan, and Mitsubishi vehicles, to add more replay value to Prologue.
If you're bored with driving cars, then you can just take a break and just watch Gran Turismo TV. Gran Turismo TV will let you get connected and watch car racing programs without having to log off the game for a fee. Also, if you're feeling lucky and want to show off your moves to friends, then you may find the Photo Mode handy in getting screenshots of your game and saving the snaps into your hard drive.
A US release date and pricing information for Prologue is not available yet, but you can count on us to keep you informed. Until then, stay tuned!

still expensive. at least for an "extended-demo".
thanks for the notice though ^^
Well, if it has a full damage system, online racing, and use of the g25 shifter then I'm in for anything up to $70 to tie me over the holidays.
you'll have the online racing and probably the use of the g25 shifter, but the damage will have to wait
@Twenty-Se7en: like gbmaztah said, you won't have car damage. Even more than that, Gran Turismo games will never have car damaga since they use "real" cars in their games. (and no car brand would like to have it's car broken in a game...)
Still, I'd buy the game for 30$, that would be cool!!! 16 player online is hot for GT
this is the reason why Polyphony NEVER releases GT prologues on any other country besides Japan.
it would only be trashed by the likes of these cheap people.
and besides saying its Expensive is an absurd comment because this product is NOT OFFERED TO YOU! its for Japanese people!
GT3/4 prologues enjoyed success here in Japan, yes there is not just 1 but many iterations of Gran Turismo 3/4 before the final products. and many prologue great contents which we experienced never made it to the final product such as car prototypes etc.
Well not many people in Japan have XBOX 360s with real racing simulator games so it makes sense they will pay over half price for far less than half a real racing game. 5 tracks and 30 cars, times 2, 10 tracks and 60 cars is still far less than a full game for the price, and they still want $40 for a downloadable version.
Call me cheap, but that is nothing but a ripoff. This series is still behind the times. A while back they said damage modeling and extra car downloads may be offered, but why can't they include that in the game? They're milking this game for all they can!
Forza2?
That had real cars and real damage, you couldnt get terminal damage and couldn't flip the cars tho.
But real car brands will allow damage to there cars. Would the old Toca and Colin Mcrae games have been any good without damage?
GT5 could have damage in it but my bet is that GT5 prologue wont.
Their is no mention of pricing yet. Polyphony Digital even went as far as saying the rumoured pricing was completely false and it wouldnt cost that much.
