November 17 marks the release of Sonic the Hedgehog. Of course, all Sonic fans already know this, as we all can't wait to get our hands on the next-gen Sonic adventures. The release is also part of the celebration of the 15th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog.

There's far more new stuff to see in this next-gen Sonic the Hedgehog, considering that it now belongs to a spiffy console. In the PS3 version, environments are more realistic and the details of the characters have been pushed to the avant-garde level. There are various Action and Town stages: the Kingdom Valley, Tropical Jungle, White Acropolis, Wave Ocean, Dusty Desert, Crisis City, Flame Core, Radical Train, Aquatic Base, and End of the World, to name a few.

There's a mixture of playable and non-playable characters as well. Sonic the Hedgehog pulls some nasty tricks on Shadow the Hedgehog while Silver the Hedgehog with his psychokinetic powers. The non-playable characters include Dr. Eggman, Mephiles, Blaze the Cat, Princess Elise, Amy Rose, Miles "Tails" Prower, Knuckles the Echidna, Rouge the Bat, and Omega.

We got the latest videos of Sonic the Hedgehog straight from TGS. Enjoy!
