We've heard quite a bit of talk about the PS3's Stereoscopic 3D tech, but how exactly will it pan out when in action? The answer to that question lies in this video here, a 3D gameplay clip uncovered at the recent TGS 2009.

Hideyuki Agata, Director of Software Development Department for SCE, said:

Sony is looking to bring the stereo vision to the home in 2010. We'd like to increase our content, in line with the start of 3D games in 2010. So far, we've wanted to give players a more natural experience by converting 2D games into 3D. Bringing stereo vision to the game allows the player to feel more depth, and the game world becomes real.

Wipeout HD
is the game subject in the video. No epileptic seizures were reported.

Definitly won't be getting one of these TVs, I already brought a Sony Bravia earlier this year. I won't be buying another one just for this feature. Too bad they can't add this feature in the form of a FW update though. Kind of weird it has an update FW option considering there are no updates for it at the moment

you don't need a new tv, this already supports a bunch of tv's people already have, you need a minimum 200hz or something to do it.

It would take awhile for people to make the switch to a new tv. I wish Sony would just do a firmware upgrade or even a converter that hooks up between the PS3 and tv or something. Here in the U.S. we just had a digital tv conversion take place and I know a lot of people who just bought new digital tvs and I highly doubt they would buy a new one any time soon.

You need a tv with 120 hertz or more. While they are not expensive many people including myself aren't going to run out and buy them to replace our perfectly fine tv's. Also 120 hertz hdtv have only been in the market fir about a year.

» i hope its min 120hz

sh*t i went out and bought one as soon as i saw the difference in bluray quality and smoothness. well i had to save up but the results are amazing and i couldnt live without one. 60hz 1080p was good while it lasted and its a shame the tech was good for just a short time. By the time i had enough to get a 120hz they came out with 240hz so i decided not to even look at one since im content with my current tv. Here's hoping its only requiring a 120hz instead of a 240hz.

All you will need is 120 hertz. The reason for this is that it flashes both images at each eye at 60 hertz per eye, which is also the reason why TV's like mine with 60 hertz can't do it. 30 hertz per eye would look horrible.

I haven't got a HD tv yet so along with wanting to get a 1080p resolution should I check too that it supports at least 120hz?
