The classic puzzle game Tetris is coming to the PSN. This was officially announced by EA and Blue Planet Software, promising a truly "definitive Tetrix experience for PlayStation Network."

Tetris has so far been developed on more than 15 platforms to date, and EA apparently is not keen on locking it at that number anytime soon. Adam Sussman, VP of worldwide publishing for EA Mobile guarantees "new gaming modes, stunning HD visuals and the enhanced audio experience."

With Tetris on the PSN, you can now play with up to six of your friends at one time, whether online or locally. If you want a more intimate buddy-buddy system, they've got that option for you too, with the new "Shared" mode feature. This one allows two players to team up and play in a "single matrix".

If you're looking for something more competitive, you can also opt for the "Team Battle", where you and your partner can duke it out against another duo. "New Power-Ups" have been incorporated "for more fast-paced fun."

Revamps have also been made to the more familiar "Marathon" mode, which now makes room for multiplayer games among 4 players locally. There's also a new "Challenge" modewhere you can play throughout the "Marathon" Mode.

Tetris is finally coming to the PSN next month, at a yet unspecified date and for a yet undisclosed price. We'll keep you posted for more updates.

Probably by far the best game on PS3! Haha! If this was being released on XBOX 360 it wouldn't be news, because of all the great games available on it. Well Done Microsoft, Well Done Indeed!

Finally but I have this game on multiple platforms. Also the PSP mini version should have worked on the PS3.

another money grab... serisouly, first it's $10 for a 20 year old game on the psp store??? wtf! now they're sending this shovelware to consoles capable of playing WAYYYY better games.... with today's capabilities, all games should be 3D in some sort, be it first person, 3rd person, or anything

if a game is 2d, then it should be for free. it should be ILLEGAL for people to charge for those cheaped-out-on-games.
