Tekken: Upcoming fight flick, round 2 |
Ó
For Tekken fans who are pissed excited about the prospect of the Tekken live-action movie, this ain't news on it. With that little detail roundhouse kicked out of the way, we're letting you know about the other film being produced by Shadow Motion Pictures, and will be directed by R. L. Scott (nope, not Ridley Scott).
Titled Tekken: King of Iron Fist, this short film will be taking place shortly after Jin Kazama's ending, where after defeating Jinpachi, he now has control of the Mishima Zaibatsu. Unfortunately for Jin, he's also inherited the Zaibatsu's recurring problem - Super Soldier/Pyschopatch/Van-Damme Lookalike Brian Fury. And since this is a flick on a fighting game, the short film's promised to be a long, brutal slugfest between these two bad boys.
Expect to see the film to come out in a few months. But for now, Mr. Scott's sending out these promo pics to give the fans a teaser of what's to come.
Last note: We're not sure if it's just us...but doesn't Brian Fury look a bit too young here? If anybody can tell us who's playing who in these pics, we'll be grateful.

And I agree, CG should be how they make all videogame movies. Didn't they learn anything from Advent Children? And it's not like it's THAT hard to make a CG movie; they come out with a new one every other week. Disney/Pixar has a hit every two years or so, Dreamworks and other random studios too.
If they can pump out stuff like CRAPPY Feet, Over the Hedge, Doogal, Ant Bully, Incredibles, Shrek, etc, they can put out one or two good game movies. Movies based on nothing or based on books are fine for live actors because there is no previous picture of the characters.
But when it's based on a game or anime, everyone has grown accustomed to how those characters look, sound, move and behave. Get the same voice actors to do the voice-overs and use CG for the actual movie.
I really don't understand why they don't see how well game films have done in the past and how well CG films are doing now.

What color I am has nothing to do with the fact that I don't want people making movies with out of character characters. I don't want a fat actor playing a person who was skinny in the original game, I don't want an old person playing a young character, a black playing a white and so on.
You may be fine with that kind of crap but I'm not. What's the point of calling it by the same name if you're changing things about it? It's not Tekken because Jin isn't white in the game.
I understand if he was a friggan swamp monster or something in the game and they got a guy to dress up in a suit. But if a person is a certain race, why change that? There are plenty of Asian actors.
