Well being a fan of the series I have to admit im a bit disappointed really, it looks very similar to the PS2 version be it updated graphics and deeper pretty backgrounds before the fight but everything else looks pretty much the same I expected a lot more,at least a lot more than what they show on what I hope is just an early demo.
But, as a Bryan player I think I just wet myself.
I mean there were still a few more mechanics it looks like they added like that kick grab from behind that i think it was Dragonav did. I mean they're gonna keep the fighting the same because thats what all the players have grown to love. I hope they could implement the type of countering ablities that u see in DOA (I know its an xbox game) because that makes the fight even more interesting. Tekken to me always seemed a little turn based but hey what am i talkin about.... I have a PS3 and im gonna buy this game regardless.... damn it u got me again sony!
it looks like an xbox game. Since the only real improvement is the graphics i think ill wait for tekken 53. Along with mario party 700 that will be the best game ever. I am so glad i did nt get a ps3 because they were sold out.... things are looking pretty sad. especially since my hdtv doesnt have copy protected inputs there is no reason to get a ps3.
Draganouv move was in DR....
and please, please do not mention doa.... retarded parry system. Character specific parrys and counters are the way to go.... along with hard to do reversals ect ect ( chickens )
lets be serious they cant change the game play too much, because they tryed it remember tekken4 no! its the bastard child of the series. all they really can do is to add to where dr left off ,to please the hardcore tekken fans. dont get me started about doa, its hella fun but lacks the depth and dedication. i would consider it the Wii game of the top fighters. it has a good just pick up and play, teach ya sister how to play in a hour thing to it. so GRAPHICS! is the only deparment left. going from tag, tekken5 i like how character models look in tag. i think they had a more normal look imo. tekken5 gave them very wide shoulders, chubby legs they are very beef up. i played they game in wide on my sdtv i thought they look squashed. they look like they went for a more cartoony look. just go back and compare forest law versus law and you will see. moving forward to tekken6 the kept the same modeling style from dr it looks very solid maybe a littlelike plastic but the ligthing on a few stages are killer.
the game looks *****in amazing, so beautifuly designed, some new fight mechanics, simply stunning.
cant wait for it

Eh, i stopped liking tekken after tekken 3. Its like buying the same game over and over with better graphics. Sure DOA is an xbox game, but DOA4 for 360 improved greatly on game play that you had to basicly relearn the whole style of playing. If this game does the same then it might be interesting, otherwise no need for this. Atleast we still have virtua fighter 5 to look forward too. This game will probably sell really well though, all tekken games do. I guess i'm spoiled in the sense that I could never get into a tekken game outside of an arcade machine. Meh.
The gameplay is the same old tekken, which is brilliant, best 3D fighting game imo , a lot more technical to play than DOA, and more rewarding too.
Generally speaking though I have to say that the T6 trailer really didnt do anything for me. I was hoping that it'd be the huge generational gap that there was graphically between 3 on the psone and 5 on the ps2. Sadly they have concentrated on the environments instead of on the character detail yet again.
Lets be honest here, when playing a fighting game you tend to focus on the characters in the game and less on the environments, it would have been nice for them to put all the effort into making the character models better when compared to the environments. The character models look just like what has been seen in previous gen games like Resident Evil 4, Tekken 5 etc... I'd have thought being on a next gen machine everything would have been taken up a notch again in the graphical stakes :(
Fingers crossed for Tekken 8 :)
Most ppl don't realize what it takes to be good at tekken. It might seem like they keep making the same game, but they balance it (sometimes) and add new moves. There is so much about tekken that ppl don't know.
King for teh Win
I am a huge tekken fan, but this looks seriously disapointing. Everything looks washed out, and very subpar IMHO. I exspect way, way more from tekken 6 than this. And SupraDoom, 1080p is just a marketing gimmic by sony, on my Sony SXRD 50 inch, there is basically no difference between 1080i, and 1080p. My tv has a kick as deinterlacer i know, but still, if you dont have at least a 60 inch tv, its makes no difference. And if you havent paid at least $1500 for your 1080p set, its not true 1080p. Most cheap 1080p sets donot properly deinterlace, and are actaully worse pictures than 720p. And the majority of sets are native 720p sets anyways. Just becasue it says it supports 1080p, doesnt mean its native resolution is 1080p. Consumers have been lied to by all the hd gimmics. Supporting 1080p and displaying native 1080p are 2 different things. Any westing house, bargain tv is only Native 720p at best.
It'd be cool if they do the "Fighting Viper" disarment mechanics on Jack!
I bet you the only reason people are complaining is because the game's not bright and colorful. Don't get me wrong though, bright varied colors do make for a pleasant looking game, but if you say "yea the graphics are better, and the backgrounds are deeper, but that's it!"
What more is there really? I mean, even if they made the fighting system hugely deeper, I doubt you would be able to tell just from watching this trailer.
Despite what most people here think, I think it looks pretty decent. It looks just as good, if not better than Dead or Alive did when it first came out for 360 (just mentioning dead or alive cause it was the first good fighting game for that console). Its shaping up nicely and although it doesn't look THAT different than before, I'm looking forward to making Christie wear even less clothes than usual :p.
I think it looks awesome, it looks like they've added some to the game play to keep it fun with some unique new characters. I'm not specifically a HUGE fan of Tekken, but I do love Fighting games, and so far the game looks like it has potential to deliver.
being as Tekken DR on the ps3 is one of my most played games..... for 6 to be fashioned after it is perfectly ok by me. The truth is if you mess with the formula too much, you lose the hardcore fans, and they are 75% of the purchasers of tekken.
Looking forward to it I am...
(P.S.) Hated Dragunov at first, but played with him a while and his punches link into throws are tight. DONT MESS W/ HIM OR PAUL PLEASE NAMCO!!
Bryan + Shotgun = cheap bull!!!!

No, its because the character models only look as detailed as Tekken 5 on the PS2, simple as that.
DOA4 environments were damn impressive but again, the character models wernt any improvement over other PS2 / Gamecube / Xbox generation games. Take a step back and look at how awesome the models and animations were for Soul Calibur on the Dreamcast compared to all prior games before. Since then there hasnt been another jump in character model / animation quality. All subsequent games to date have concentrated on the environments.
The character models are functional but in no way impressive when compared to what they should look like on a new generation of hardware. Virtua Fighter is the same again. Environments improved, but character models have not. This is something very lacking in all of the "new" 3D fighters being released at the moment. If FPS games can have such a huge graphical update between hardware generations then why not 3D fighting games? No excuse at all. The only reason would be if they are limited by the arcade machines hardware specs which result in lower quality home console ports than what the target platforms capable of.
Just hope as this is only a trailer, the final game should look so much more improved over previous 3D fighting games.
Virtua Fighter 5 have impressive environments and character models.
I've never gotten into fighting games but I like playing Tekken. Tekken 6 just doesn't convince me to get the game. It looks exactly the same with only improved graphics and some new moves.
If PS3 games don't start showing better quality, I might not get the system at all. I'm waiting for MGS4 and Final Fantasy 13 to come out, so if the system improves by then, I'll get a Wii and have my self a Wii360 combo.
if that aint detailed character animation than you must be blind o.O
THIS IS A FRICKEN LOW QUALITY VIDEO ALL OF U IDIOTS!!CHECK THE SCREEN SHOT!!
nothing to drool over!
SEXY!!! WANT!!! NOW!! PLEASE!!! how bout for psp....tekken 6 - undark unressurection?
I love how this earily dev trailer thats low quality is making people believe it wont look good in 1080p on a huge hd-tv...
and for 1080p being a gimmick thats laughable, its a proven difference... everything just looks more dense .. very easy to notice. And if its so gimmicky why is microsoft updating the 360 to do 1080p and have an aftermarket hdmi add on....??
Microsoft! 360! here we go again stick to the subject .
With a good game no one notices graphics after it's been played a week anyway, so I'm not worried too much about the backgrounds and character models. Tekken's been the same game for me since Tekken 3. Tekken Tag was the pinnicle of the franchise; they lost me when they took out Eddy.
I wont be convinced until I play this game, without any sort of shock or feedback I really dont know.
T5... and T5 DR...
I agree it looks very much the same as the old versions, I really dont see anything here that would convince me to pay out on a game that I basically own already.
i dunno what you guys are smoking but Tekken6 looks great. Also, why would they change the fighting mechanic? then it wouldnt be tekken... duh
Oh no, why are there guns?!! Damn. Oh well back to VF5.
