LittleBigPlanet release date - Image 1

Who's ready to go play with sackdolls on the PS3? Uh-huh... yeah, I see a whole lot of hands right there. Okay, if Target is to be believed, we have a date as to LittleBigPlanet's much-awaited release. Focus on operative term now: IF.

The retail store is now offering  pre-sale cards for Media Molecule's little big gun for the PS3 which screams an October 21 release. Again, this detail has not been confirmed yet by the powers-that-be at Sony or Media Molecule, but we're thinking there's a huge possibility this may just hold a tad more water than the previously announced September release.

If you remember, it was none other than Jack Tretton himself who posited that LBP may be pushed back to an October launch as it is slightly delayed. In fact, they have been saying it will be arriving a month late for as early as May at the London PlayStation Day. So maybe this is the real deal.

However, we're not so sure once again if this release date is actually for the download version or for the Blu-ray retail one. There's also some speculation that maybe Sony will go the way of EA with the Spore Creature Creator, releasing a trimmed-down version first before actually sending the actual game on its way.

A lot of good possibilities, but right now, we're just focused on keeping our eye on that date. In the meantime, though, we can always keep our hands busy with the September public Beta testing for LBP.

I saw this the other day when I went to Target. But judging how the last time they did this with GTAIV, it's not to be believe too much.

And by the way, GTAIV's Target reservation card was 1 month too early. It said March, when the game was actually released in April.

Knowing the date isn't going to make it come any quicker.
