Target price scanner shows PS3 40GB for US$ 399.99 |

No matter how much Sony Computer of America keeps mum about the 40GB PS3 SKUs, evidences of US stores stocking up with those units just keep popping up all over the place like mushrooms. Gaming site Gaming Bits posted a couple of shots taken from a Target retail outlet, which shows the 40GB "PS3 hardware" displayed in their price scanner with a pricetag of US$ 399.99. Like the snapshots taken from Best Buy's database, there's no indication when the units will be placed on the store's shelves.
Taking into consideration the above information, it looks like Michael Pachter's assessment of Sony's gameplan about the 40GB SKU PS3s is indeed dead on: Sony is most probably waiting for the 60GB SKUs to phase out before launching the newer 40GB units.
Is Pachter right, or does Sony have another plan in mind? Do stay tuned to find out.

Now the barrier is lifted and the 90% of people I know dying to get a piece of the pie will definity swallo it whole therefore leaving the xbot in the dust.
xbot has lost it's edge, given the free year they had without no competition. Now their best and over rated game halo 3 is already dying. Sorry bots but your system's in the decline marketing stage. there's is nothing else they do the ge an edge to boost sales.
Compared to PS3 their best games haven't even come out yet, but their sales are increasing by by 170%. There's is a whole lot to look forward to with the PS3.
I won't be surprise if there's is another violent shooting over the PS3 shortages when price drop lands on the shelves with the best titles lined up for it.
