The Darkness - Image 1Singaporean gamers may want to let out their collective groan of frustration now. Local Singaporean censorship has deemed The Darkness as being too violent, and has banned the game from being sold locally. The news came from 2K Games' own games distributor, New Era, and this bit of information cannot be pegged as mere rumor.

Grand Theft Auto 4 may be prohibited from the city-state's shores as well, similar to GTA: San Andreas. There are also rumors of Bioshock getting banned as well for having "excessive violence".

This will count as yet another hit for game developer Take-Two Interactive. Will another country reject any of the company's upcoming games as well? If so, how well will Take-Two cope with its seemingly unending crisis? Only time will tell.

all developers have to do is make the game region free > then, all you have to do is import it : )

tut tut

Well everyone in Singapore can blame sony for this. If sony hadnt released this game then you would of been able to get it for your beloved 360. Thanks to sony, they have yet again single handedly ruin everyones fun. *clap* for sony!

What the ...?

Did they mention they decided to ban it because the PS3 version? They would have had to look at both versions of the game. Violence is violence, irrespective of console. If the PS3 version was deemed too violent, I'm guessing that the 360 version would also be considered too violent. At least they'll be able to import the PS3 version from overseas, unlike the 360 version.

To much violence

I don't know. I have no problem what so ever to limit the number of violent games out there. To be honest, it starts to piss me off, that you can only sell games nowadays if they contain a high level of violence and gore. What's wrong with our world? Where are the times when we tried to get along just fine - without the need to kill each other. Don't get me wrong, I like shooters. But every and each new recent release just pushes the envelope a little further. Now I say, don't ban these games, just rate them A. You can get porn as well, but not in main stream channels. If you think you are mature enough, well buy it...but keep it away from the kids...pleasssseee!

Well, after the s.e.x. party me and xman just had, i relized what a douche bag i really am! I am going to sell my 360 and get a PS3 since its got better hardware, software, and its getting more salls all over the World! The Games are so much better for the PS3, like warhawk, lair, Ninja gaiden, GTA which is exclusive for ps3 owners, and Uncharted, MGS 4, Killzone which is way better than Gears, and also we are getting many more games than 360 this year. .... You have.... halo 3..... Gears... Bioshock....Halo3? wow im gonna have so much fun whith this *****Box, 360. :( bad mistake in wasting 400 for something so gayyyy.

*sigh*

mr common sense, please shut the fruck up. I've read a few of your comments, and all of them are very irritating. You always go bringing other systems into posts, when nobody else is even mentioning them. So please stop your fanboyism. This is not the place to do it. Sony didn't screw anything up, and this will be a nice game for me to add to my collection. Stop spamming these article posts with your fanboyism. If you can't stay on topic, don't even bother posting. Like it says before you post, "Please post your comments about the above article" not put down a company for making a game, ok? GOOD This is a good game, and lawyers and other enforcement should stop trying to stop these kinds of things from getting out. If a game is violent, let the parents worry about it. If the kids that play it can handle it, then let them play it. Gawd it's turning into rock in the 80s all over again...

region free

im pretty sure ps3 games are region free, even though ps2 games on the ps3 are still locked.

WHAT?

IT'S NOT MISTER COMMON SENSE! IT'S MISTER SOMEONE ELSE!!!
