Take a stroll around PlayStation Home: details from beta |
Ó
A lot of you guys are probably excited about PlayStation Home, and your anticipation might not be for naught; PSU definitely enjoyed their stroll in the virtual world. After creating your virtual self by using the extensive character creation engine, there are lots of other things to do. Pimp out your apartment with a variety of furniture and appliances, or just go out and meet the world. Outside your home, you can go to theaters, play games in the arcade, or just mingle with other people.
The controls offer what you'd need to communicate. Push a button and you can already talk with your mic, send messages, do emotes, and all those fancy stuff.
Now that it's on its way, we can only hope for more improvement. If all it's got is a digital hub for PS3 owners, most gamers will probably be displeased. Maintaining an online community is not very easy either - swear filters alone won't make sure the place is safe for them youngins'. How people will receive Home could potentially make or break Sony's reputation to the casual gamers. Will this ambitious project succeed? We can only wait.

no casual gamer will buy a ps3 to make a character that runs around a virtual world.
run
Das y Home is a option, its not like u hav ta use it...Home is a perfect add-on and can only get better
but having it for free is a plus :)
casual gamers can just go buy a wii then.
it will get all those "movie happy" ppl that bought the ps3 for blu ray thinking, "hey this ps3 can do other things"
Home is a nice feature and if the trophy system turns out to be worth anything, it could be better than xbox live. The only reason I prefer xbox live is for the achievements. Everything is normal for an online service.
your spent 50 hours making a mii? you must have the IQ for a dead snail.
'Cause there aren't any xboys talking about halo in the comments section.
They might buy PS3s to talk 5hit... its basically the same as this site,
They get on a PS3 news site and talk about da 360
Home is the bomb. I would of gotten the ps3 just for it. FUN FUN FUN I love the comment on "no Halo3 chats", thankgod for that..
Here are my predictions for Playstation Home: It won't do anything to help Sony sell systems.
IS NOT THE 360 POWERFUL, MUCH MORE POWERFUL THAN THE PS3? IS IT ALL HYPE? IN TRUTH DOES NOT THE PS3 PWN THEE, OR 360? IF NOT, PROVE THINE SELF, AND USE FOLDING@HOME!
i love it. i think it better than what the others consoles got. i hope they make improvements. but it look fine to me already. alright playstation home!
you spent 50 hours customizing what's basically a digital lego character? man you have no life.
I don't get whats so great about achievements, its like getting awards in BF2 for the PC, the achievements don't even stand out as much as the bf2 awards. And isn't really much visual appeal to the achievements. I just don't see the appeal in it
people might not necessary get a Wii to make a Mii either, but mainstream audience love it, and its like Mii's,but more. if you don't see the connection then your probably a hardcore gamer.
You see, its like the icing on the cake :) .
home is the real deal and i love it and i can't wait
The Wii is a lot better than the PS3 it uses it like a dirty tampon
I read in a list that there going to expand home (meaning the land)
there adding pets
jobs (hope 4 point to ur PSNstore)
ummm i 4got the rest...lol
Eclipze_(PSN) if I could I would rate your comment at 1273 Diggs
I've played the beta, it was very interesting. It truly holds great potential as it is great already. If Sony made Home like a real living environment (Absolute World S.I.M) like Second Life and such others. Maybe even if it was like Animal Crossing. Animal Crossing being what it is: A NINTENDO GAME! It was originally created for the Genesis (only in Japan) named Doketsu Forest. WOW off topic, well anyways can't wait for Home.
i hope it's good. not because i'll be using it but just so it doesn't give people another thing to ***** about.
first of all the speaker on the wiimote is terrible and second the motion sensing is WAYYYY worse than the one on the ps3's sixaxis. sure sixaxis doesnt detect the location of the wiimote but its much more accurate. i played wii boxing and my shots were delayed by like 5 seconds. and when i played wii golf when i brought the wiimote back to swing the guy putted! plus whats the point of buying vc games when i can play them on my PSP for FREE! and the graphics on wii i must say are S+H+I+T!
