Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix on track for 2008 release |
Ó
Despite a beta plagued with problems, Capcom has announced that Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix is still lined up for a release this year. We're not offered any specific release date though, but I guess a promise that we don't have to wait until after the New Year is good enough. I guess.
Still, if it means a bug-free game, I'm all for it. Don't know if you guys managed to get in the beta, but it was, well, let's just say I'd rather play the game back on my SNES. Let's hope that the buggy-as-hell beta means a non-buggy final release of the game. Rey Jimenez, the game's associate producer, has this to say about the beta:
We are in the home stretch. We're basically closing out all the bugs that came up in the open beta and a few other open issues.
There were many issues with networking that got a lot of the help from the beta. We used the beta as a test bed to roll out new tech on our side and the beta identified what we were doing right and what needed to be adjusted.
On the level where the beta revealed problems with the code (what a beta is for), it was a huge success. [...] I realize that it might not have provided the best experience for our testers, for which I apologize, but it will all help the final game be a better product.

What I mean is why could they not just port over the character sprites and controls with updated graphics? Is few changes in moves of characters really this much of a problem? I can't wait to play it though. I hope it comes out soon and in great shape.
My guess would be some network issues for online play.
Also... this game should of been out a long time ago. I was once excited for it, but now my attention has shifted to SF4 which looks much more impressive.
Also, from what i've read in the past, they've dumbed down the graphics and whatnot to fit MS's 150mb limit for the game. Cutting down layers and shades from like 8-10 to 2-4. It made me so mad when I read it, cuz It should be the best it could be.
i hate ms pooing on all of our games. they did it to ff13 because now we have to wait an extra few months for it since they want to release both at same time instead of releasing ps3 version when its done. i just hate MS! they are evil
