In an interview with Belgian gaming site 9lives, Sucker Punch co-founder Bruce Oberg admitted that they ran into a few difficulties while trying to release inFamous on schedule. While they've certainly cleared these obstacles, they never did get past two "mountains": multiplayer and DLC.

According to Oberg, the lack of time eventually led to a singe player-focused inFamous. Multiplayer and DLC haven't necessarily been ruled out yet, but those wishing for their addition will have to wait awhile. The devs are apparently now on holiday, so there are no plans at the moment to add either.

» great game!!

some bugs make you through buildings but its still great been playing it since last week. Also when you guys get to the sphere mission shoot zeeck your friend he ends up betraying you to beat the spychic junk guy level up your electric shield trust me youll need it. Also the the floating power is so cool. Some guy kessler is the main bad guy.

» I for one would love multiplayer...

I had/have so much fun freeroaming the whole city in GTA4, and have no doubt that it'd be awesome to do it in this game too.

» mm

i hope your taking the piss

played the entire demo tonight, waste of time

its spiderman 2, reskinned, everything is the same, even the crappy dialogue and lip-sync of characters

the missions are the same and the enemy have that stupid appearence , animation and sound just like spiderman

only thing was, spiderman was mildly amusing for a while as there was a wee bit of skill, but the smoothness of attacks where alot better

for infamous you have to stop dead still before attacking, its useless

» Sounds good to me

Personally I think way to many developers give up on single player game play, so I'm actually glad to hear there will be no multiplayer. Don't know how I feel about the no DLC thing, but I don't really care about that either.

» um...

I don't know if you even played the demo thoroughly... I was able to throw lightning grenades while I was using static float move, and was able to shoot enemies while I was grinding the rails, you can basically attack in any position, and Spider-man 2 was developed by treyarch (I think) not sucker punch, and since when did spider-man roam around a devestated city called empire city? and nearly destroyed the city itself from a package he was carrying? Not only that enemies are pretty relentless in inFamous, you obviously didn't play the demo.

» I'd suggest..

...Waiting for Prototype to be released before purchasing. The demo for inFamous it good but not worth the hype. Prototype will blow inFamous out of the water when it hits.

» I'm waiting to hear about that too.

I don't really agree with your last comment, because all we've seen have been trailers and the such, I think we should wait for a demo or something, you know?

There have been too many games out there that look like they're going to be awesome, but are plagued by crappy controls, glitches, and other issues.

But I'm hoping it turns out to be good!

» I agree with emcp

I just got done playing the demo.... it was boring, the controls were too much, they need to be simplified. its not a hard game, but the guy dies to easy. the spiderman remapped comment, that was exactly what i was thinking. a let down, next.

» i doubt it

if u want simple mindless action than yea maybe prototype is for you. but i guess if u think the controls for infamous are hard(took me 5 min to master) than u are simple minded. prototype looks pretty good, but not as good as infamous. It was created by the guys from Hulk Ultimate Destruction so it pretty much plays the same. U run up buildings, jump super high, and smash everything. There doesnt seem to be a good story or good grafix for that matter. the only cool thing ive seen so far is the morphing power...but i cant judge a game til ive fully played it so ill have to wait and see, so far however it looks like infamous has far more effort put into it.

» Come on man...

You can't really say that inFAMOUS is better if you haven't tried Prototype. People need to stop comparing the two and wait till they try both games out. I for one like inFAMOUS and will get it tomorrow.

And regarding the DLC come on Sucker Punch. Not everyone pre-ordered your game and got the Gigawatts blade(or what ever it's called). At least make that a DLC.

» Naruto has a point

Infamous has been on the works for the PS3 for about 3-4 years now (since05'), not to mention that the game has been fully developed without the "limit" of multi-platform compatibility. Meaning that you'll get little perks here and there . For example no loading times during game (as stated by the developers) and full advantage of the PS3s Bluray POWA lol

Infamous (exclusive) VS Prototype

(Non exclusive) IDK IMHO Infamous will/has take(n) the PS3 to the next level and has/had the "guidance" of SONY. Like Naruto stated above "There doesnt seem to be a good story or good grafix". Then again what is "good". Still though.

Then again the article has nothing to do with Prototype and I guess ALL of this "nonsense" really doesn't matter unless QJ makes a topic comparing both idk I guess buy both and help support devs for further games !?!?!

» infamous rules

played it thru being infamous... it's awesome!! much better than the demo.

the demo is pretty early on in the game and you have powers there that you shouldn't have yet... and the mission isn't the best out there..

the story unfolds really good.. i'll even play thru the whole game again being famous this time!!

and i don't really know why everyone is comparing it to prototype.. the only thing that is the same is that they both are openworld games and you have powers..
