Sony Won CES Street Fighter 4 Brawl - Image 1

The dust has settled from the epic Street Fighter IV (PS3, 360) tourney between Capcom, Sony, and Microsoft at CES 2009. Who came out the winner?

Capcom of course, hands down. It's their game :p. But the more interesting question is, who won between Sony and Microsoft? It's a clear game, ladies and gents. Sony has clear rights to total pwnage for the tourney.

Did anyone lose any bets? Sony's rep gamer, Joe C, took home the trophy that day. His control of Sagat bested Microsoft's rep, Josh, who played E. Honda. And what was Joe's trophy? A brand new limited edition Star Wars Battlefront PSP bundle.

In case you're curious, Capcom's rep, Justin Wong, won the fight with Chun Li (yowza!).

It's cuz the 360 gamers are hindered by a horrible D-Pad and thus never learn how to really experience the game. :P

More often than not I wish I could use my Dualshock 3 with my 360. It's a more comfortable fit and suited to play every kind of game genre there is. I'm glad that Sony hasn't changed the basic design of the Playstation controller over the last 3 generations of consoles.

You can't blame the 360's d-pad because they didn't play against each other with the 360 or PS3 controller. They used the madcatz SF4 arcade sticks & control pads. The PS3 just has more competitive gamers and play more games that take skill rather than casual FPS run & gun games all the time.

PS3 has more competitive gamers? And people are agreeing with you? Shows how little QJ users know about competitive gaming

If you go to gamebattles, just about every multiplatform game has about 5x as many players on Xbox 360. Racing, shooter, fighter, RTS, you name, 360 has more and better players.

CoD4, probably the most popular competitive multiplat game, and definitely not "casual run and gun" at that level, has 24,000 users on PS3. Xbox 360 has 152,000 users...

Sadly, GameBattles isn;t a very good place to actually PLAY games competitively. I've played it quite a bit on GB and I find that the people who play it are horrible. Not skill wise, but it's really just in the ethics of things, Lag-switches are rampant and cheating is just everyday stuff.

And you know, COD isn't really known for it's depth, it has turned into nade fests nowadays.

ON TOPIC: Nice one Sony!

I agree that gamebattles is a pretty sh*tty site with cheating rampant, and anyone not in the top 100 is pretty damn terrible at any given game, but it doesn't matter what site you go to. All sites have way more 360 gamers, or no support for PS3 at all because it doesn't have a large competitive following in the first place.

As far as I'm aware, no league plays PS3 games. Not 100% percent on that, but I've never seen it. Even the national Madden tourny has switched over to Xbox, and not because MS bought them out, but because the players liked the Xbox controller more.

I know there are clans of very good players for a lot of PS3 games, and some games like Res 2, MGO, and SOCOM take tons of skill, but DNAgent's comment was that PS3 has more competitive gamers, and that is not true. Not by a long shot

I also find it funny he said PS3 gamers play more games that take skill, when the only games even being considered for tourny play by the big companies are shooters, Res 2, MGO, SOCOM, and Killzone2
