It has been just a little over a week since the Uncharted 2: Among Thieves demo hit the PlayStation Store, and Naughty Dog could not be more pleased with the reception that fans have shown for the game. Apart from getting downloaded a @#$%!-load of times, the demo has amassed a cumulative total playing time that has the equivalent of 27 years. Whoa.

Check the stats out:
  • Total Number of games played – 1,217,424
  • Total Number of Kills – 92,110,787
  • Total Number of Treasures Captured – 1,860,645
  • Total Amount of Money Earned – $38,841,367,350
  • Total Time Played – 9,905 days (or 27+ years!)
As of now, the Uncharted 2 holds the record for most downloads for a demo on its first week at the PlayStation Network, and its likely that it will go on to become the most downloaded demo ever. Evan Wells, through his post at the PlayStation Blog, is also happy to report that out of 34 reviews on Metacritic, Uncharted 2 scored perfect on 17, and none went under 90.

What's even cooler is that this is just the demo. Imagine how much time people are gonna spend playing the full game.

Yeah well it's not really a demo compared to the others on the store. It's got enough maps, modes and online players that it's replayable over and over whereas most demos are a single player short level thing that you rarely want to play again, having already made up your mind after one completion whether you want the full game or not.

YOU SHAMELESS BEAST!!!

lol but dood theres co-op right? a quick mission and whatnot, that does it for me!

I would rather them not spoil such beautiful moments when i play the real game

the treasure hunter edition I think they called it. It's so rare you can't even buy it, only win it. Finally a limited edition that actually is limited and for collectors, If the price doesn't matter to you I'm sure you can get one off ebay in a couple weeks.

Uh ok. Not sure what your point was and why I got rated down. I said the beta is highly replayable. Moreso than a lot of full games I've played. Can't wait for the full release of Uncharted 2 next week.

Well, as far as replayability goes, there's that TimeShift demo on the store that's still up. Has online MP.

Too bad the game sucks. And it came out over two years ago.

UC2 though, yeah, it deserves all these stats.

Unfortunately, not as many as ODST. The quality in this game is amazing.

you can't compare the two games. they're two different games. Halo :ODST is a stright up FPS. Uncharted 2 is a third person action/platform. Plus this is a demo, When the Halo 3 MP Beta came out it still didn't reach the number put out by Uncharted 2 Demo.

by Lazyboy256 - 2009-10-09 10:44
» Hmm...

But Bungie didn't release the H3 MP Beta out for public download right? I think you had to have had Crackdown around the time of it to play it.

If it was publicly released, then I'm sure those numbers would be much more higher...

Anyways, bravo at the UC2 demo!!!

lol I laughed when I seen your post. Just to read NarooNs post and see nothing that would strike someone with aggression, and then see your post with an overwhelming amount of general straight forward hostility, it was enjoyable lol, maybe my sense of humor sucks idk.

I think that guy use to make some of the coolest old school UT maps I use to play. My memory sucks though so I could be wrong. Thought they were always labeled "CliffyB"
