Ó
There has been so many backfence talks about the possible PS3 version of the phenomenal RPG Final Fantasy 7, and so many people are wishing that this one could be true. Their hopes were up for a bit because of this quote that surfaced from the June 2006 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly which says..."Last year, Square Enix teased everyone with what was called the 'FFVII PS3 demo.' Well, what do you know? This test case was really a sneak peek at a next-gen revival of the PS1 role-playing hit."
And with that, plus the oh-so-many write-ups about FF7 in the PS3, no one can blame you if you really believe that the PS3 would bring FF7 to life. So when asked if there's a tinge of truth in this rumor, Square Enix representatives said:
"Since the Final Fantasy VII tech demo at E3 2005, there have been a lot of rumors about the presentation hinting at an actual remake. While the June 2006 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly confirms the remake for release in 2007, Square Enix has never stated this...We have however confirmed that development has begun for Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII on PlayStation 3. These titles are part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis Project which also includes a mobile game titled Final Fantasy Agito XIII."
This doesn't mean that FF7 will never be available for the PS3, but for now, reviving the said RPG is not in Square Enix's agenda. But then again, there is nothing wrong in hoping for it and maybe, just maybe, the people at Square Enix will listen to the gaming communities' pleas to bring it back.

They want to create as many FFVII spin-offs as possible until the FFVII fans start losing faith. Then once the fan base starts to look grim, they release the remake with no previous announcement whatsoever. It will just be shipped in a secret box and on the day stores get it, they spam commercials like no tomorrow and people will rush out to buy it.
This is what im hoping will happen anyway.
What will probably happen is they will wait for PS3 development to reach a certain point and then release FFVII remake. FFVII would bring in so much revenue that a remake has to be in their plan somewhere.
