Final Fantasy VII - Image 1If you have a Japanese PSN account and is a HUGE fan of Final Fantasy VII, then this is sure to be great news for you.

In anticipation of next week's Japanese release for Advent Children Complete (with the FFXIII demo), Square Enix has released Final Fantasy VII International for the PSOne Classics (otherwise known as the Japanese Games Archives service) today!

No, it's not a remake, it's the real thing! This is a Japanese retranslation of the English FFVII, which had some new stuff added in. You like, huh? Do note, though, that the Game Archives is exclusive for Japan for now (what's new). But don't worry, you can access the Japanese PlayStation Store and download the game (am sure you know how by now), as long as you don't mind the game being in Japanese.

Have fun!

I was just wondering today when they're going to get games like this on the PSN store while I was playing MGS1 on my PS3.

Squenix finally does something good for their fans instead of trying to suck every dollar they can out of them, I was expecting them to release this on the ds with touchscreen controls and sell it at a premium ds price of $40 bucks *cough* Chrono Trigger *cough* hopefully we see more of this from Squenix and less FFVII spin off garbage, and 70 dollar blue ray movies (FFVII Advent Childern Complete) I could be wrong though, maybe their just trying to suck all the money they can out of this game with plans of releasing a remake in the future knowing that everyone would buy this game twice, (sort of like they released FFIV on GBA and then remade it on DS)

Just forget that the PS Store for North America supports PSone games. I mean, no one in NA bought FFVII, did they?

I believe it's up to each region's SCE. For SCEA, the issue isn't as large as SCEE. Europe has many countries with various laws and languages. The games have to be localised for each country, I guess. Whilst America uses mainly english, making release easier.

Sadly, do not get your hopes up on this. We have yet to see Metal Gear Solid, Bloody Roar and some Bio Harzard games come to us.

For the current story, I'm not to fussed personally. I have my disks. Give me a fix for FFVIII over this any day. :)

I already have a real copy of FFVII, and anyway I finished it around 4 times, with everything you can get (gold chocobo was loooong, but the reward was great too :D, made the weapons easy to beat).

Why is the game called FF VII International is it in more languages than Japanese? Seems kind of odd to have international in the title if its only one nation compatible.

he does have a point. international is kinda misleading. it should have just been the japanese version like all the other ps1 titles on the pstore...

the japanese version of the international release (outside japan) of FFVII. It's like FFXII International which had a major revamp on the gameplay but never released outside japan. OTOH FFVII Int only sports additional features i.e. Emerald Weapon battle and some other stuffs...
