It has been said that there are certain video games that are best played on the PC platform that on any other consoles. This is especially true to real-time strategy-based titles. Anyway, peripheral maker SplitFish GameWare is trying to solve this "deficiency" with its innovative PlayStation 3 controller FragFX.

"We created the FragFX to enhance PlayStation 3 owners overall gaming experience. We believe that when consumers compare the cost to upgrade to a Vista Game System relative to the PS3 and FragFX combination, gamers will see the benefit," commented SplitFish CEO Cisco Schipperheijn.

In addition to that, SplitFish announced that the first batch of FragFX controllers has already shipped to select markets including Amazon, Gamestop, eBay, and their official site for Europe. Quite unfortunately for some, the ones who will get it for now are those who had their units reserved.

Splitfish added that it was in fact overwhelmed of the many pre-orders on the above mentioned sites despite the lack of a formal announcement. Rest assured the peripheral maker promised to come up with more supplies of FragFX. In case you missed our last report, here are some of the worth mentioning features of the controller:
  • Just plug it in and play
  • Faster and more accurate
  • All games supported
  • An optical mouse for higher control
  • Full SIXAXIS motion control
  • Frag button for pinpoint movements
  • Dynamic mouse sensitivity adjustments
  • Adjustable motion sensitivity
  • Motion level calibration
  • Programmable motion over-ride
  • Analog Stick Swap Ability
  • Firmware upgradeable
  • PS2 games support on PS3
  • Doubles as navigation mouse

Not necessarily Luke, it's all skill, a person with this MIGHT be better, if they are used to it, but a person with the Sixaxis still can own them if they are good with that.

It seems to be a ps3 rip off of the wii's controller. Still cool though.

I've been waiting for this one, much much better and more accurate than the wiimote. If you've tried the wiimote, you'll know what I'm talking about.
